Well, I bought this game today and have played it for 5 minutes. Terribly disappointed. The graphics are terrible, watered down, no textures. It looks like a cartoon. I doubt its a problem with my computer as SC4 textures look absolutely fine, as do Cities XL platinum and Sims 2/3/4. Vehicles whizzing around at full speed is ridiculous. Maybe other folk like it but I definitely don't and will be asking for a refund now. Update: Put in for a refund and returning back to my beloved SimCity 4.

Did i imagine it or did I read somewhere on here that mods for SC4 can be used in the new SimCity?

3ds Max - Troubleshooting & General Discussion
annlou replied to Jasoncw's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hi. I have searched this and previous thread for my problem, plus googled it but cant find an answer. I hope someone knows how I can fix this and thanks in advance. I have two problems to do with the material editor on 3ds max 2012 (not slate). The first problem is that a material bitmap will not wrap around the ball in the slot, it just shows the material partially or just shows a completely black ball. The second problem is that when I assign a material to an object (in this instance I am trying to assign different materials to different parts of a building) sometimes it will not show the material (even in render) and just shows the object as black. Plus, sometimes when assigning say a brick material to wall, it will show up on different parts of the building such as windows for example. I used the unwrap UVW's for all parts of the building, placed the material onto the uvw map using photoshop and have checked and rechecked the photoshop psd files to make sure they were correct. I have also cleared all the material editor slots and then started from scratch only for the same problem to appear. When I assign the windows texture I get a really strange looking window where all the pieces look jumbled up or cut. This is a new problem and 3ds max wasn't doing this before. I can only think that I have pressed something that I shouldn't have. Can anyone help? I'd better add that I suppose i have 3 problems, not 2. Thanks. I had better add that when doing the uvw unwrap etc I was doing it on the different parts of the building and not all together so I have several saved uvw maps for different parts of the building...it just seemed the easiest way to me to do although there is probably a quicker and better way of doing it. -

Hello. Am not sure where to post this, so sorry in advance if this is the wrong place. I am having a problem when I try to export from Gmax Bat and I hope someone can help me. When I export I keep getting 'export failed - error 6'. Anyone any ideas what this error code means? Thanks in advance for your help. I did check and search through the forums for the answer to this problem but couldn't find one. -

Maxis Road Grey Texture When Dragged Diagonal - sorted
annlou posted a topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
Hi I have a problem where if I drag a road diagonally it goes a lighter colour than what is normal...it looks kind of washed out. I have the NAM but have still not quite got to grips with it yet and so am using the road from the first thumbnail under the first option (if you see what I mean). Can anyone help me please. I did post this problem in the NAM installer area a while ago but no one has replied so thought it should be ok to repost it here instead. I have tried the NAM and downloaded the bus stops that were created to plop onto the road/street but it won't let me do this and just shows a red square. I must be doing something wrong or misunderstanding what I should be doing but just don't know what. Thanks in advance.-
