Tugu Pahlawan or Monument of Hero is the most famous landmark in Surabaya City, East Java, Indonesia. This monument was built to dedicate the struggle of peoples in Surabaya to fight England and Netherland's Colonization. The red light at nitelite simbolize that the spirit of Surabaya Peoples is very burned to fight the colonization. Two things that the greatest moment in Surabaya are Surabaya people killed AWS Mallaby from England at Jembatan Merah (Red Bridge) and Ripped the blue color of Netherlands flag became Indonesian flag (Red and White) on the top of Yamato Hotel. Bung Tomo is the most influencial hero in Surabaya, cause of his speech that burned the spirit of Surabaya People to reach the independent. Surabaya is a capital city in Provinsi Jawa Timur (East Java Province). The main characteristic of Surabaya People is friendly but very fierce when they are threatened.

It's better than before, but your model doesn't have any of the details in the real building. The fancy flame sticks in real life are spheres on cylinders in yours. The columns nice beveled inward kinda look is not present in yours, which is just a tapered cylinder obelisk thing. Nor is the detail at the top of the obelisk present. And the detail at the top you do have is a bit messed up. Last, your nightlighting makes no sense in context of simcity. If you are going to have that ridiculously powerful of lighting, which is in real thing, I'll give you that, you're going to need to BAT the plaza so it doesn't look like your item is just randomly glowing red rather than being lit. Also, your textures need a ton of work. The base looks like you didn't put a UV modifier on it atm, and whatever that's supposed to be got swirled. That, or it's a terrible texture. You also need to tone down the white just a bit on the tower and add some grime to it.

It's a vast improvement over your previous works, but i wonder why you didn't post this in your BAT thread...

I can see you're trying and steadily improving, but until you get it down to an art I think you should concentrate on a single model and give it several iterations of refinement, documenting it in your BAT thread, until it is of a very good standard. At the moment I feel you are rushing with too many average-y models, that don't fulfill their potential. take one of the points in darn42's comment, for example: Pick a weakness, say the column's geometry, focus on it, show the community, alter where necessary, and then move onto texturing the column etc...

I hope to look forward to some quality Indonesian BATs in the future. Good luck :-)

The base still needs some work, but good work kawan

You should try doing something easier like standard Indonesian homes(ie. tipe 36, etc). Should be easy though

I see a kind of sculpture near the pool, it seem crucial, you must add that thing, another that, the BAT look like a lamp at night. I don't have any idea about the true building, but, there are some deifferences between yours and something that i see from your picture. The texture from your BAT is just too flat, and though you said if the red lights means a burned spirit of locals, do you know if too much light will make your nice monument at noon, become a kind of glowing things with a mysterious thing inside it at night? Play a bit with nightlightning, keep moving because this one is already a big improvement, though. 4/5 so far from me, don't stop now, keep trying and reach 5/5, okay?

Hey, i'm not sure if made a sculpture is an easy task for new BATters, is it not just better if you see some tutorials and information that available in Omnibus ? There is a tutorial that may tell you how to make it, just search in Omnibus, BAT/LE tutorials part and i'm sure if you will find it.

For some reason, it looks like the Washington Monument to me. Of course, as an American, most every obelisk makes me think about the Washingtom Monument. So it's an obelisk.

It look like Obelisk Washington, but i think it has some differences. Washington Monument has 4 sides and it white colored totally. But Tugu Pahlawan has 11 sides and has some textures and has green color in the bottom of the monument. Thanks for downloading. Wish you like it :) greetings from Indonesia
