About This File

This is a very old project that I thought I should release so here it is!

Ever want to place a soccer field in your city but there's a transit line in the way? isn't that annoying? Well be annoyed no more with the overhanging soccer field! place them under highways, elrail, monorail, NAM puzzle pieces! heck, even place them off the edge of your map, who cares!

Because of the size of the lot I was able to keep most of the props, including the animated soccer players running about and under the rail line. is this realistic? Nope. but hey, sometimes you just have to build a support post between goal posts.

(More actually cool lots coming soon!)

Oh! I almost forgot, if you have any issues with this lot feel free to leave a message, I didn't check it at all zoom levels but it seemed functional to me!

I don't think it would be handy to have the support pillars in the middle of the field in real life, but overhanging lots are always a good addition because there are so few of them and because they don't always have to be used under networks, so 5/5!

If it was more generic, just as dirt, tracks, rubbish, general nothing here - look away stuff... would be perfect in this situation ;)

I just don't see a point in this.. As someone who played soccer for 7 years.. I can't say I'd enjoy faceplantint a highway pillar..
3/5 stars.

There are many situations where it can be useful and without pillars in the way. Nice idea.

You could make an overhanging LOD prop that removed the pillars.... but thats the only improvement i can think of. This is nice and simple, a great idea.

I've never really thought of it but this could be quite useful. Soccer fields are a bit marginal though, you should do this for airports and whatnot :)

Man seriously? This can't even fit as a street football (yes soccer for Americans...) But I like the idea, try making more parks like this for under rail :D

Nice idea, maybe add dirt or just grass under the pillers & make the soccor field next to that.It would be much better then the network won't go through
the soccer field.^_^

Maybe you've shown the wrong way of using it, Mewwie, and some people can't think of other ways themselves...
I used them today, and not under elevated networks, but to overlap on embankments etc.
That way there are no problems with pillars, and they are very useful to fill up some strange gaps in your cities if you work with plopped lots a lot.

!!!Please do this with parking lots!!!

I hate seeing the bare grass under these tracks in the game, especially near my downtown areas. I love this idea, but sports fields with posts in the middle just doesn't make sense.

I can see what you're saying about the usage, the screenshot was just to illistrate how I have used them. There are however some problems with uneven terrain; I'm not sure if it results from terrain above or below the rest of the lot, but the overhanging surface can bleed through the base of the lot which can look a bit odd. But! if it's more screenshots you want, let me see what I can do!

Can you make a soccer field with FLUPs line? Or (which is probably easier and better) 1x1 overhanging field, so you can build an underpass using existing empty tiles and then place a field on top of this conctruction?

Just one little problem.....the track is in the middle of the field. The poor kids might hit their heads on the supports. Hmm....

It involves making Custom LOD's (The box that the game renders on custom built models) and then making the ground by yourself. Its hard, but it makes the game load a blank picture over the pillars. I've only ever seen it mentioned once though and used on hills not supports, but it could be a way of doing it. It might also fail as the Lot is overhanging, so it's putting more stress on the game.

There is always the option of Transit enabling the lots, and only adding non pillar props. But thats would limit it to 1 network.

If i'm honest, it probably isn't worth the hassle. This lot is rather useful for bridges that have parts on land.

Hi,

I really like your lot, because this idea perfectly works for some really hard-to-deal-with situations. You said you're gonna put some more cool stuff up here. Can't wait to see them. What I need is a 3X3 plaza lot overhanging from only 1 tile. I've been looking for something like that, but I found it nowhere. Your idea captures my needs, I just need a plaza instead of a soccer field.

Thanks 4/5

can you please do this (as shown in the photo below) for the other maxis parks ?

or a combination of these to fit over the highway as shown above - 8 squares long, as wide as shown,

also creating some that fit around on/off ramps would be nice also - to do a "Boston Big Dig" as it were

I use a "8 x 8" system (blocks 8 squares wide and deep)
