About This File

Hey guys, after a long absence I am officially back. This is one of my older BATs from a few months ago.

COMMUNIST MONUMENT - ok fine, i renamed it communism since socialism would be a fist and not the hammer and sickle

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The following BAT is a monument,

adorned with the hammer and sickle,

a symbol used by socialists, communists,

and others to represent solidarity

between workers and farmers.

The marble is enscribed

"L'Internationale sera la genre humane",

the last ending line of the chorus from L'Internationale,

a song used by anarchists, socialists, communists, and the

International Democracy movement.

Again, this is not an in-your-face upload, and I am not trying to endorse communism, Stalinism, or the soviet union... relax, this is just a monument. I belong to a school of thought that sees Stalin, Mao, Kim Jong Il, and Pol Pot as a few examples of extreme reactionaries that spit in the face of socialism and turned it into corrupt, tyrannical systems that would make Karl Marx and Engles commit suicide. This is a symbol not often found in the STEX, and I'm adding it to the collection of socialist monuments for all those who may want to use it as part of city journals, etc...

The Lot -

Size: 2x2

Type: Landmark

Cost to build: $2500

Monthly Cost: $50 per month

Cost to Bulldoze: $1500

Dependencies? No :)

This is a cool idea, I like it, but isn't it oversized? (I like this one, too, but IMO smaller would be better)

The hammer and sickle is usually used for communism, but isn't always associated with it, it can be used to symbolize just socialism, sans communism.

(the negative coment) @DuFerraz- Please keep comments like that out of the STEX. They should be somewhere else, maybe like a discussion about comunism in the forums.

That's a very cool idea Anik but there's a mistake in the lyrics. The good ones are : "L'Internationale sera la genre humain"

How many millions of Christians (Catholic and Orthodox) were brutally slain for their religion because of the Bolshevists and their successors? This is a tad tasteless. I don't think there would be so much support of an oversized monument of a Swastika, yet they are not that much different.

How many non-Christians were brutally slain by Catholics or Ortodox FOR there not belonging to one of those religions? How many of "wrong" denomination Christians were brutally slain in the intra religious wars, wars of reformation, for instance? So, PalmJoe, if you would know your history you would probably be appalled by the display of a cross...

The think itself is very poorly executed. I mean how lazy should one be to fail even rotate the damn thing to set it properly?

Simfox, Come back to me when you read history other than pop-revisionist history with no details based on truth. Turn off the television and read some books.
