About This File

Gassho-zukuri houses are a type of Japanese housing particular to the historic villages of Shirakawa-g? and Gokayama in Toyama and Gifu Prefecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Gassho-zukuri, or "prayer-hands construction" style is characterized by a thatched and steeply slanting roof resembling two hands joined in prayer.

The design is exceptionally strong and, in combination with the unique properties of the thatching, allows the houses to withstand and shed the weight of the region's heavy snowfalls in winter. The houses are large, with three to four stories encompassed between the low eaves, and intended, historically, to house large extended families and a highly-efficient space for a variety of industries.

The densely-forested mountains of the region still occupy 96% of all land in the area, and prior to the introduction of heavy earth-moving machinery; the narrow bands of flat lands running the length of the river valley limited the area available for agriculture and homestead development.

The upper stories of the Gassho houses were usually set aside for sericulture, or silk production, while the areas below the first floor were often used for the production of nitre, one of the raw materials needed for the production of gunpowder. Many of the houses are still used as housing, although some have been converted into shops, diners, and inns, due to the many tourists visiting the villages after their designation as a World Heritage Site and the completion of a highway linking the mountainous region to the third largest metropolitan area in Japan, Nagoya in 2008.

BAT information:

Comes with a slightly rotated, normal, and snowcovered version. As well as a nice little shed.  there are also two variations for the houses( does not include the snow covered version).

Not an NDEX release, despite some of the descs having NDEX in the title. Small mistake there.

In episode #1, we kickstart the city by building up a small island and than looking to spread out our city in the next episode. We so far have began to build our skyline, and commercial districts and the iconic japan neon light street. Project Japan is a humble attempt to build a somewhat realistic looking Japanese city situated somewhere between Okayama and Kobe on the northern shore of the Harima-nada sea. Japanese city series are almost non-existent, perhaps because of the serious ack of Japanese themed assets on the workshop. Finding inspiration can be tricky. Therefore, revamps are to be expected throughout the series, as i get better at building Japanese cityscapes and/or new assets become available.

I present to you Kogyo Waste Services, a neat little waste-handling company. If you need some trash gone, you know who to call....
      ---
KWS is a fully-batted building/lot combo that fills a 3x3 I-D lot. It can help break up the monotony with its characteristic yellow roof and parking lot filled with yellow trucks. The building is a partially accurate rendition of this small industrial building in Osaka:

Maxisnite and Darknite are both supported, and the bat features TruNite lights. Download the appropriate version depending on whether you use SimFox's Day and Nite Mod (or an equivalent) or not.
-Installation: Simply unzip the the downloaded .zip file into your plugins folder. There aren't any extraneous files in the folder (like images) so you don't have to worry about deleting anything.
-Building Plop: The building is listed as MM_JPN_ID_3x3_KogyoWaste in the Building Plop window. This requires Buggi's Extra Cheats DLL. Keep in mind that plopped industrial buildings will not generate freight truck automata.

Many thanks to the various people who have helped me along the way, and I hope you enjoy this!

Please note that this upload is not mine, all the works in this download were created by Kazuki which were originally hosted here. Since those files are no longer available, they have been recovered here on the STEX, so people can continue to download them.
This package is designed so you can place transport networks under the in-game bridges. To do this these lots use Car --> Subway or Rail --> Subway transit switches. As such, there are some limitations when using them. For road networks, only car traffic is able to use them and for the rail network, only passenger traffic will continue through these lots.
Two sets are included, the actual underbridge pieces in addition to filler lots. This will enable these to span larger gaps where necessary.
After plopping these pieces, they must be connected using the Subway tool between each converter lot.
