About This File

Note: Please use Sc4 Terraformer and raise elevation for correct height, river and lake depth as shown in picture.

This is a map of the New York State Capital District which includes Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Rensselaer, and Saratoga. Albany is the capital city of NY located in upstate NY in center eastern section of the state. It is about 4 hrs from Montreal, 3 hrs from New York City, 3 hrs from Boston and 5 hrs from Buffalo. Albany is at the crossroads of transportation located along the Hudson River and close to the Mohawk River and Erie Canal and is center for government, banking, higher education and is a emerging high tech center. This map was created from USGS data and as so must be terraformed to correct for elevation and for water. Please use Sc4 Terraformer and raise elevation for correct height and river and lake depth.

Wonderful! I live abut 15 mi. south of Albany. It looks like this only goes down to northern Bethlehem, since that looks like the Normanskill there. Oh well. Most of the development is northward anyway.

Thanks! Yep it should go to North Bethlehem... Remember to fix the elevation with Sc4 terraformer you might have to re-deepen the rivers... look at my picture for reference.

Yeah, that should be in there. Heh, one of the Google ads on the front page of the STEX is for Martin, Harding, and Mazzotti, a local law firm. "The heavy hitters do it again, call 1-800-LAW-1010" Catchy tune.

I live in Troy, and have always wanted to recreate the city. Now I finally have a reason to. Excellent job! Uh oh not the "Heavy Hitters" theme again...

has anyone actually been able to recreate the city? I'm having trouble because there's not enough traffic coming from the southern suburbs to justify 85 and the like :-( awesome map though.

I tried to load this region in my game and it will only load about the upper left section of the region. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks though for the region!!!

Im not sure what the problem is, try doing it again, remember to load it in sc4 terraformer to raise the water and fix elevation and such...

You should have cut off saratoga so you could have had more interesting geography like the helderburg escarpment and that sort of thing included... anyways, im not sure how to use the terraformer -- it makes all the colors on the map really bright and weird looking after I save, and then in the transportation view things are a little glitchy on the map? any suggestions???

Yes, I know that problem too. All you have to do is after you import the map in sc4 and have the weird colors, you just need to go into each city tile and save it. The region map will then return to normal without the weird colors, may be time consuming but solves the problem.
