On March 31st 2007, the SC4 community was pleased to be flooded by several great BATs created by Ill Tonkso on the STEX. All the BATs were critically acclaimed and well desserved it.
However, I, not being a big fan of ploppable buildings, thought that the lack of growable lots on most of the BATs released that day kind of spoiled his great work. So, instead of whining in the comments section about the lack of growables, I searched the forums and learned how to convert ploppable buildings into growable ones, thanks to Equinox for his tutorial.
Being a noob myself concerning all that modding stuff, it was surprisingly easy to do this and managed to convert into growable buildings seven (7) BATs released by Ill Tonkso. I'm sure I'm not the only one interested into that, so that's why I wanted to share.
The lots design for the growables are the same than the ploppable ones, I've just changed the stats of the buildings to match those of the Maxis ones. I've also changed the capacity of some buildings, but nothing too drastic. All the detailled stats for each BATs can be found in the readme included in this file. If you're not happy about the numbers I've put there (it is the first time I've done this), just put the numbers you want with SC4Tools.
The seven BATs I've made into growables are :
- 100 Bishopsgate
- 110 Bishopsgate Heron Tower
- 201 Bishopsgate Broadgate Tower
- Holland and Judd Administative Building
- Pewsley House
- S Utton Financial Lettings
Obviously, you need the .SC4Model files of these BATs if you don’t want to see brown boxes. If you had previously downloaded those BATs and have the ploppable buildings, you don’t need to download those again because you should already have the model files.
