Pacific Rim National Park
By beskhu3epnm

Pacific Rim National Park is located on the western shores of Vancouver Island in Canada. It is located just south of Tofino, British Columbia. Aside from having some of the best surfing available, it is also shrouded in natural beauty, with some incredible beaches.

This map has been previously available on the STEX here: https://www.simtropolis.com/STEX/index.cfm?id=16577 The old version of this map was in 8bit, and did not benefit from the latest technology available. It has now been "re-mastered" in 16bit form. There have also been enough changes to warrant a second upload. Thanks to JWUT for his interest in this map - this is the end result!

The elevations are 100% accurate as per DEM data. The map has been rotated 45 degrees so the beach will line up with tile spaving. Other then that, it is a perfect representation.

The map measures 7 large tiles wide by 7 large tiles long (1793x1793). A config is included in the .zip package, however don’t limit yourself creatively, as it is set up for large cities only.

The Columbus Terrain Textures were used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any terrain mod can used to do the same. For custom snow levels and rock angles, I have included a custom copy of the main file in the Columbus Textures. Simply replace the default file with the one included in the package. Credits to Cycledogg for permission to use these!

The PEG Limestone Rock Mod was used when opening/saving the city tiles in game, but any rock mod can used to do the same.

Also, there are some much better screenshots of this map available in the thread. Enjoy this map, and don’t forget to comment & rate, even if you hate it!

Very nice beskhu3epnm! I like this a lot! It's got everything, shorelines, mountains, flatlands.....and it's not to big or small. Excellent work!

The region looks great! Thanks for considering my input, NHP team! And in full 16-bit technicolor, too!

Very, very nice map this is to build on! I've started a new CJ using this and it's proving to be the best and most visually pleasing map I've ever worked on. A big thanks from me to the NHP team for this one! 10/10
