About This File

After 18 months of development and for my 100th upload to the STEX I'd like to present one of Frank Lloyd Wrights masterpieces.

The lots are a recreation of the Frank Lloyd Wright Larkin Administration Building from Buffalo New York. The original building was built in 1906 and destroyed in 1950.

The building was quite innovative in many ways. It featured an atrium, or nave, in the centre of the building that stretched up the height of the building letting natural light flood in. The windows of the work areas were placed above eye height, so the employees would look up to the sky rather than out to neighbouring buildings. Rather than placing the executives on the top floor, they were on the ground floor where they could be observed by the employees. There was a rooftop garden open to employees, with a staff cafeteria on the floor immediately below that. The building was one of the first to feature air conditioning, with the massive pillars on the corner of the building acting as air intake columns (as well as stairwells) and air could be pumped out of the building at different places depending on the time of the year.

There are three lots in this pack; a reward plopable, and two growables.

Great building, and great model. It's a shame it was destroyed, for mostly stupid "reasons"... Thanks to computers, it might still live forever.

Absolutely beautiful Mr. Deadwood. F.L.W. buildings are abundant here in Phoenix. I think the architecture and night lighting is amazing. 10/10

Amazing! If only all developments these days on the STEX were even half as good as this...well let me tell you! Fabulous job, truly a fabulous job! It's photorealistic, and it's an excellent way to pay some honour to a building that was destroyed. Great job! :D (I don't often give tens these days)

Great to see FLW's genius come to SimCity! The pictures look excellent and I am eager to see it in one of my cities soon. Now, if you could do Fallingwater, Johnson's Wax building, Taliesin West, the Imperial Hotel and a few of his prairie houses, I would be ecstatic! Excellent work...and here is to the second hundred uploads! Congrats!

Ahh yes, the Imperial Hotel. The other tragedy of FLW's legacy. On of the few buildings to survive one of Tokyo's greatest earthquakes, only to be bulldozed for a more modern building.
