Hamiltons Jewelry, part of the Smalltown, USA Series by JBSimio

Contrary to popular belief, Hamilton’s Jewelry is not named after the owner of the shop, but actually for the street bearing its address.  Built during Smalltown’s booming growth in 1914, little is known (once again) about the original purpose of this structure.  I know what you’re thinking, and let me assure you that the record keepers of Smalltown were fired decades ago.  Let’s just say the scandal was in the 60’s and certain plant life was involved in the loss of so much historical information.

The building saw a variety of business move in and out for quite some time.  Being one of the larger storefronts in town, there was trouble finding a tenant to fill the space.  The building then sat vacant for a number of years, until finally a jeweler from a neighboring city got fed up with his location in the mall.  Betty Bulcaine fell in love with the intricate wood work of the storefront and repainted it in a brown color scheme with cream accents.  She thought this would lend a touch of class to the building and match well with the brick trim of the second story arches.  Today, Hamilton’s Jewelry thrives on the dwindling practices of personalized customer service and being an active participant in the community.

Hamilton’s’ Jewelry is the ninth release in the Smalltown, USA series.
