About This File
The Acadian Peninsula is situated in the northeastern corner of New Brunswick, Canada. It is home to a large Acadian population. The Peninsula is at the meeting place of the Baie des Chaleur and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Two major islands off the northeast tip of the peninsula, Ile Lameque and Miscou Island, are culturally considered part of the Acadian Peninsula. The City of Bathurst, New Brunswick (population 13,000) is located off of the Baie des Chaleurs at the mouth of the Nepisiquit River.
