About This File

This is not a "map" in the traditonal sense, in that it is not downloadable from the STEX.  This is actually a game region, and so the technique to get it from my computer to yours is a bit different from other maps here.

The region is only available via private email, due to it's size, and has been bundled into 5 zips of approximately 10MB each.  No rendering is required...this region comes game ready.  The zip files must be sent independently of each other and reassembled on your end (instructions included...and it's fairly easy).  The region has been successfully emailed to a number of people without creating any problems whatsoever in thier games.  The region has 2 major dependencies for it to appear in your game exactly as shown in the screen shot: Columbus Terrain Mod and jeronij's Snow Mod.  If you don't have the dependencies installed to your game, the region will still load, but treeless and snowless.  The underlying terrain will not change (and will default to game stone textures), nor will loading the region crash your game.

If you have interest in trying to build in this region, PM me and I'll send it along to you via private email.

PS.  Ignore the greyscale map attached here...it won't load in the game.  If I knew how to detach it, I would.

The map itself does look very good. But your upload is unusable, as you posted a screenshot of your region view. To actually import YOUR region we need either a greyscale map or the whole folder on your harddisk that contains the region.

Why not just keep it simple and upload a NORMAL map - preferably one of your own creation ..................

Sorry... but this isnt how you should upload a map - you need a greyscale dude, not a reigon view. Ill give you the benefit that your intentions were good

"This map has a number of dependencies in order for it to be rendered exactly as shown." ............. yeh - it needs somebody who knows what he's doing .............................

aww come on people... don't flame the guy! Its his first upload after all. As said, you need a grayscale image. In other words, you can not upload regions you hand terraformed (or in this case modified). Look at any other map to see what a grayscale is.

Jeez folks, give me a break! I'm sorry this original attempt to post my map to the STEX is such a disappointment, but I did warn you I had never tried this before and that it may not work. Instead of dissing, can anyone offer help? A tutorial would be nice...

Aside from uploading the wrong type of map, isn't this just Flamesrock's map of 'Atalla'? Everything else seems to be a description of how you have tweaked the region AFTER the rendering process. If that is the case you should share that in your CJ and not the MEX...

I would, however, be happy to help you in any way that I can regarding uploading a map that has, in some way, been altered. If you can't find what you need already in a thread, create one and post a link here. Good luck.

I'm sorry some of you don't understand that this map has been extensively "hand terraformed" and so there is no way to upload it to the STEX within the file size limitations of the site. Others do and I have recieved numerous requests for the region map via PM. If you can't say something nice...

YOU don't understand that the STEX is designed for DOWNLOADS - if you have a "creation" such as this to share then advertise it in a forum !!! And your opening comment plus all the unneccessary CRAP you typed in the description, shows extreme arrogance on your part lady !!!

WOW..delboysim, you seriously sound very much like what you called him I realize that you are restricted from uploading it because it is too large. In my opinion, large=good quality=exempt from ur complaints He is new to this and will get better, if he even stays thanks to these complaints

However, map theft is a big issue, if delboysim's desc. is accurate, and omg you emailing him asking if he wanted a copy is just plain hilarious! Please keep mapping!

Guys stop being cattish ... the member is offering a complete rendered REGION by his own e-mail and is not using ST bandwidth ... you maybe surprised that there are people that struggle with preparing a MAP. Please stop the bickering.

Vlakhaas - does it not say on the upload page DO NOT UPLOAD CITIES THEY WILL BE REMOVED - this is NOT a downloadable map - so why is it in the maps section of the STEX ?? If this lady wants to send it to people - can she not do it via her extensive thread on the forums ???

I have an extensive thread in the forums? News to me! And, this is not a city in that there are no "built" elements anywhere in the region. No mayor mode constructs at all...everything is God Mode. It's a raw region, just not transferable between computers in the usual way.

I dont see why you just cant post a greyscale image, instead of this. I think it looks very, very good, I do want to play it, but hey, I dont have time for this emailing and stuff. Fuck.
