About This File

The modular homes of the future?

But these aren't yourstandard modular homes. These low-cost concrete-mold formed homes arebuilt to last decades, perhaps even centuries. Spacious interiors, quaint nooks and more closets and shelves than even the most compulsiveof pack-rats would know what to do with.

Additionally, thesehomes are a "Bright Green" development. That means they use only energyefficient appliances and use rainfall recovery technology as well asmodularized power systems to essentially take these homes "off thegrid". Each set of two homes is jointly powered by a small geothermalpower station below ground, water consumtion is reduced by up to 70%with rainfall recovery (in areas that recieve substantialprecipitaion). Neither system produces air or water pollution. However, these systems do increase the price of the house substantially.

And yes, it is GROWABLE.

there is also a ploppable version of the LOT included in the package.

It's to be hoped that they will last well ... concrete production is about as ungreen as you can get. It will take a lot of energy saving elsewhere to make amends. Nice BAT, though - good to see someone doing something so different.

great design and interesting concept. I agree with RP that concrete is not green from a carbon-neutral point of view. I'd like to see a timber version - almost totaly green and renewable material...Good stuff!

I hope you never sacrifice your originality or unique style. The STEX sorely needs stuff this cool! Great job and keep 'em coming! :D

That is the Danube font BTW. And yes, that is a very good point, about concrete not necessarily being the most green of substances.

These are pretty cool, but a "bright green" house ought to be R$$$. Nearly every green housing scheme requires massive gov't subsidies if it's intended for anyone but the rich. Excellent BATing, though. With modding this will go very well in my Eurotra--er, "Euro Contemporary" cities. ;)

BTW, rock-crushing uses 50-75% less power if you shoot microwaves into the rocks to explode them into tiny pieces, instead of crushing everything mechanically. High energy prices will eventually make this attractive even for cement plants.

*downloads b4 dependencies are removed from pack* I for one prefer it this way, means less time searching around this VERY slow STEX and more time playing. Thanks allot for this, I think it's great, something new and experimental for my city =D

I love that you are trying to be envorinmental. But if you can please make the exterior or/and interior design look a bit more pleasant to the human eye. I mean, I LOVE THE IDEA. But I am not so sure about the design.
