The Canyonlands is a ficticious place set in the southwestern U.S. Alarge river flows through the desert and carves a magnificent canyonout of the sandstone. Other smaller rivers, streams, and creeks flowinto the large river, each of them carving out canyons of varyingsizes. Some mountains are located to the north of the large canyon,with some smaller mesas and other hilly terrain located in other partsof the map, although there is lots of flat land to build on as well.
This map was originally a DEM of the eastern part of the Grand Canyon,located in Arizona, but I have modified extensively to make an evenmore interesting, SC4-playable map for all to enjoy. The region is24x24 km (1537x1537 pixels) in size, which is a little bit larger thanthe average map.
The region is shown in the picture with the "THL Terrain Pack ver.2.3", using the "Reddish Scrubby Desert" terrain. This file can befound on the STEX.
