About This File

Realistic Resident Mod by N&R Productions

This mod by newy2 and rustawilliams (N and R) reduces the numbers of residents in low-density residential homes to much more realistic numbers. These numbers are on average reduced by two thirds eg. if originally a building had 12 people living in it, 3 people would be residing there. There has only been one problem in beta testing and that is that the population shown in old cities (cities produced before the application of the mod) doesnot change, however all other effects stay the same.

Now, after talking to soem people, I think I need to say that throughout beta testing, the commute times of residents did not suffer at all the only change was that now, urban areas will now have to be bigger. This defies what some people believe which is that the no job zots will increase with this mod. To see this defied all you need to do is look at the only example of a CJ with this mod, Lillford Pass, at http://www.simvision.net/forum/showthread.php?t=665.

Overall:

Effect: Low-density residents reduced by a third.

Deficiencies: No effect on population box for old cities

Hope you all like the first release of N&R Productions. For discussion and information go to www.nrproductions.ipbfree.com.

I sense the presence of another mod in that screenshot ... made by somebody I know vaguely ... lol ;) Great idea and great job, guys. Amazing such changes can come in a 4.3 KB file.

the house doesn't give enough population and you reduce it... that's not a good idea man but its just my opinion.

It's a great mod that adds a lot of realism to the cities!! I like it very much and always use it. Only one thing, a third of 12 is 4, not 3! =D

Is this reduced BY a third or TO a third, for ex. from 12 to 8 or from 12 to 4 ? I would agree more to the latter since a standard family in a single house would normally be made of the 2 parents with 2 children (or rather a monoparental parent with 3 kids, which would be more realistic nowadays!).

I think it's a great idea. Personally, I'd like to see a mod that does the same for medium and high-density housing. That way, we can have two townhouses holding closer to 10 people as opposed to 40! Also, high density buildings will be more realistic and appear easier.
