Modern Townhouses, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Purely fictional, these townhouses represent the sort of new build medium density dwelling style that is prevalent throughout the world in the last few years. These are composite construction of brick and fibre cement weatherboards with garaging and rec-space on the ground floor, main living on the first floor and bedrooms on the top floor. The buildings are rendered in neutral monochromatic tones, with the black areas meant to be redolent of the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique for preserving timber through scorching. These townhouses are light on ornamentation and have simplistic shapes for ease of construction. The lot size is either 2x2 to face the street or 4x4 on a central driveway. Each lot has different stats. --------------------------------------- STATS R§§: Lot size : 2x2 Growth Stage: 5 (Medium & High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: §230 Capacity Satisfied: R§ 110, R§§ 62 Pollution: 1 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 1 Mwh Water Consumed: 4 Gal/Month Building Style: Houston/Euro/NY/Chicago Occupant Group: Medium Wealth Residential Building STATS R§§: Lot size : 4x4 Growth Stage: 5 (Medium & High Density Zoning) Bulldoze Cost: §511 Capacity Satisfied:R§ 739, R§§ 410 Pollution: 3 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 6 Mwh Water Consumed: 16 Gal/Month Building Style: Houston/Euro/NY/Chicago Occupant Group: Medium Wealth Residential Building --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: This download contains TWO model files; one for dark nite users (and other night-time darkening mods, such as Gizmos night-mod) and one for the standard Maxis nite. You must keep only one file - depending on which version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. Regardless of which file you choose to keep, make sure you DO NOT delete the Lot File! If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. So I recently experienced a hard drive failure and lost everything. Every asset I customized, and there were a lot, but more than that, I lost every city I had, including two I put multiple hundreds of hours into. One was more of a test city. It was the third or fourth city I started after learning a lot on the first ones. My first city was understandably awful in a lot of ways, but I learned a lot. Same with my second. I took what I learned and applied it to my third city. I did a lot of experimentation and learned a lot more about the game and city design/planning in general. Then I started the next city, which was a rough draft of the one I really wanted to build. I put a lot of time and effort into it, putting a ton of detail into it, the kind that's easy to miss, which is what I like. Then my drive failed and I lost all of that. Basically that's all preamble to say I've finally gotten at least a little motivation to start over, and I'm half thinking about doing a city journal, since I'm not very far along. The only thing is, I build really slow, and I don't know if anyone's going to be interested. Anyway, I'm mostly just thinking out loud with this post.
