I've just got back into SC4 after a long time away. I'm playing it on my laptop, which is running Ubuntu 22.04. The game is the GoG version and it was running fine up until about half an hour ago, when I decided to switch from using PlayOnLinux to run the game, to Lutris. I added the existing install to Lutris, and pointed it at the .exe that I believe PlayOnLinux used, as the .exe in question was a patched version from having run CAM (I think). I started the game via Lutris, and it ran fine but my custom content, including both regions and plugins, were gone. So I switched back to PlayOnLinux and to my horror, my content was still nowhere to be seen... it was like a completely fresh, vanilla install. Thankfully everything is still there in the /Documents/SimCity 4 folder. I suspect that the wine prefix is not using the SimCity 4 folder in my documents folder but rather using the one in the install folder, or some other location. Does anyone know how I can fix the issue please?

Hello everyone, Had a problem with SC4 Deluxe crashing to Desktop when I scrolled the view using the wheel on my mouse or used the + and-. Tried all of the step’ from STEX to no avail. I decided to uninstall the game and redownload it from GOG. When I first got SC4 from GOG I downloaded the game under GOG Galaxy, this time I downloaded just the game (2nd option). When I had GOG Galaxy installed, the game installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Gaxaly\games\SimCity 4 Deluxe, on the redownload it located the game to C:\GOG Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe. I checked the properties in the shortcut and in the Shortcut in the target it put “:\GOG Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition\Apps\SimCity 4 .exe” –CPUCount: 1 –f. When I had the game From Galaxy it never showed this set-up it was all about the resolution. Also with the Galaxy version installed, I could never get the resolution set in the game. When I started the game after the reload the resolution was already set to 600x800 I have since changed the resolution. I am Running Windows 10 64 bit on an HP Pavilion Notebook Laptop. So if anyone is having the same problem hopefully the information I have provided will help you with your problems with the game crashing to the desktop.

[SOLVED :D] Problems when rendering a region
peperodriguez2710 posted a topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Hello, I don't know if somebody has already solved this problem, sorry if I'm repeating it. Maybe my problem it's created because of a stupid reason, I don't know, sorry I've been creating a custom region using parts of other regions and sculpting in SC4 Terraformer. After finishing it, I created the config.bmp, saved it as a SC4M file, and as a PNG greyscale in the region folder. When I entered SC4, the region was displaying the city borders acording to the config.bmp, and started rendering the greyscale PNG image. When after an hour it finished, the region was all water tiles or land tiles with no elevation changes, completely flat. I tried using .bmp and tried rendering without any open program open or process active at the same time, but results are the same: the region is a flat ocean with sometimes flat land tiles. And I don't think it's the water height problem, because cities are completely flat, and the region has pretty big mountains. I also tried to use a jpeg greyscale, but SC4 didn't read it. (I don't include pics of that flat regions, but I can add them, though I think it's not necessary, my explanation it's exactly what it is) I don't know what to do! Any thoughts? Is the issue realated with the greyscale image (I add it if is needed)? Thanks in advance ^^
