  3. Update: After I posted the previous post I tried to run the game. It appears that everything is back to normal. I will rerun the integrity checker to see if it is ok, I just quit the game and did not get the errors previously gotten.
  4. Thanks I did it and I have 13 files failed to validate. How do I force the game to reacquire the bad files? I haven't gone the uninstall the game route yet.
  5. Thanks, I tried to start the game with the -noWorkshop option. I got the same errors. How do I go about verifying the game files?
  6. Additional info. I tried to get industries to load without errors by disabling all assets and mods and without success. I am beginning to believe it is a Steam issue.
  7. Hello I am a refugee from SimCity 4. Sadly I can no longer run SC4 on my machine so I got City Skylines, which I like better. What DLCs are defacto required or most suggested? I don't have a lot of spare money so I need to get the most bang for my buck. I have a lot of mods like "Move it", TRP, etc. Thanks
  8. Hello I had SimCity 4 on my Win 10 machine when it was new. After the crash and reinstall of everything, I finally got around to reinstalling SC4. I got a digital copy from Amazon in 2013 and still have the disks too. I can start the game but it CTD after the loading screen. my pc is a quad-core CPU with 8G of ram and a 4G Radeon video card. I have SC4Launcher and that does not work also. Is there any workaround for this issue? Thanks

    Got the oldest drivers from the card manufacturers website I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the card drivers. I get the same result.

    Thanks, I already tried that. Using an older driver is problematic as I just installed the latest version. I just rolled the driver install back to 9/27/2017 sadly I do not have an older version. I retired to start the game and still the same.

    I have tried almost everything I could think of before posting. I am now in the process of reinstalling SC4 without any success. I even tried to install on another drive in my machine (Wouldn't even load) Here is the current target line "C:\Users\cmmin\Desktop\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition (Download)\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080x32 -f -d:Software - -Cursors:color256 -Intro:off -gp -CPUCount:1

    Another thing, if I go to uninstall SC4 it doesn't show up in any of the uninstaller programs I have. I have to use the uninstaller in the folder SC4 Delux folder. Maybe this could be the issue

    I bought the digital version in 2013 when I built my previous PC. I was using Win7 at the time and installed it where ever the installer put it. I did have it running on this machine (Win10)until Sept. when I went thru the update crash. I am just getting around reinstalling it. I am including the config log Maybe this will help

    Still, have the same issues CPU count is 1 too I also updated the graphics card drivers

    My game goes to the SimCity 4 logo and CTD. it is a digital version I got from Amazon.
  18. I am running SC4 on Windows 10 without a problem. I did get the digital version from Amazon, but do have the disk set. I was running since getting my PC with WinXP installed, then upgraded to Windows 7.
  19. I prefer to call it Thinking out loud. No beer is involved in my case. Most of it is planning and swearing at mistakes.
  20. I have noticed a weird thing in SimCity that I can't figure out. As the title states I have a school usage. for example I have a elementary school with a capacity of 500 students. The actual population is 750. The total number of school age sims 0-20 yrs is less than 500. I can plop a school at each end of town and still max out the useage. I get all the nag screens about under funded schools. What am I missing?? This also occurs with medical services but not to the same extent.

  23. Nonny, I do this to the point it gets maxed out. My issue is I can place another school next ot it and then both go to over max enrolment and total number of 0-20 yo sims. This seems to occur when the total population exceeds 40K. The only thing I have not done is remame my plugin folder and uninstall and reinstall SC4. One other thing I do have a dual boot system here and the other os is Ubuntu and I do have wine installed but I can't seem to figure out how to load SC4 on it.

    I got my digital copy from Amazon.com, It is fully patched. I don't know if you can get it from Holland. Just a thought.
