To make it easier for you. I suggest you to PM the creator of that CJ. You're lucky if someone around here is also using that terrain, cause i personally never see one like that. The is what you are looking for. It won't remove your original Maxis streets but will add several additional type of streets (including dirt street). But first you must install the More comprehensive explanation about these mods is in the readme, be sure to read it carefully. Note: Make sure your game version is at least 1.1.638, otherwise, these mods won't work.

Is sim city 4 still worth purchasing?
Cefien replied to KIERONOO's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Well, most people around here will still stick with SC4 for the next several years or even more. I mean as long as our great BATters, LOTers and MODders around here still create their masterpieces, SimCity4 will still live on. Soon the NAM team will released their new masterpiece, and hell i'm not gonna miss that. And you don't get it in the new SimCity, only in SC4! -
Ah, i see, that might work too....but, actually, the demand here works quite simple, it's been said again and again, if you just simply put education in your city, the demand of the ID will be gone as times go by, and your citizens will no longer demand those dirty workplace in the end, and that will automatically lower the ID demand. That's how it work naturally without raising any taxes. Your dirty industry will be replace by manufacturing or high tech and commercial time to time. You can however raise the tax of ID simply to prevent those dirty workplace grow side by side with your HT, because they are really sensitive of any kind of pollutions. That if you don't want any of them within your city. But, keep this in mind, as long as there is demand it means your city needs that, and raising the taxes to lower them is actually to "force" them to disappear and that is not good for balance. I personally don't raise any kind of taxes in my city, i used to, but not anymore. I simply control them with education. You want dirty industrial city or agricultural city, you should keep the education low. You want a big city full of skyscrapers, you better start to build schools. And that's how my cities work. Not to mention desirability and neighbour connection also play an important rule in this case.

Now, you got the wrong point there. Getting the I-HT demand is not by raising the taxes of the ID and IM. Increase your education level is the right way. The point in raising the taxes of ID and IM is actually to avoid them in growing within your city after you get a good demand of I-HT, but not to invite or get the huge demand of them. You can't raise the ID and IM taxes if your citizens are not ready or not educated enough. It will ruin the balance of demands. I hope you are aware of this before raising any type of taxes. Education is the key, in this case. Same goes to C$$$. Without educated sims they will be useless and won't last long in the city. But, once your citizens are educated enough, they will start to seek some C$$, C$$$ or I-HT for their workplace, and only then you'll see a good demand for each of them.

No, it's ok, sir. We all made mistakes, so take it easy. If you want to remove the dirt on the rail, you can use this mod by Swamper77: (Just choose the SWAMPER-PEG_NoRailDirt_MOD_205.dat and delete the other .dat files) So, you're trying to find what mod that change the ground texture below the el-rail, or?

I'm aware of that experiment and that might work, yes. But this is a matter of balance. After you tax the hell out to the Commercial in your city, let's say they moved, all of them, and then what? What will happen to the city you just raised the tax? Without commercial within, it will ruin the balance of demand in that city. Your residents will need those commercials, especially educated sims. In the end, my thought is, you build a city, wait until it ready for Commercials $$$, when those are available, you "get rid" of those by raising the taxes in order to move them to another city. That's what you up to, right? Well, no matter how i think, that still sounds odd to me. I do like to know the outcome of the experiment though. Make sure you back up your region before doing any experiment, just in case. Let us know the result, will ya.

No High-rise Buildings after installing CAM - new city
Cefien replied to MacLopez26's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Pay attention to the education level too. CO$$ and CO$$$ will required more educated sims, and don't forget neighbour connections. The flow of traffic is a good desirabilty factor for those Commercials.- 6 Replies

Never heard of that idea in any kind of tutorial i've read. The demand of Commercial won't depends on what other city's taxation. If you're not provide one city with a good education, you can never raise your $$$ Commercial demand. Sims will start to demand those when they are educated enough. So pay attention to the education system. To lower the commercial tax will just encourage them to grow, but not exactly help to raise the demand. You can still however lower your commercial tax, but if you don't have any educated sims in your city, it's useless. They will choose the ID or IA for their workplace and maybe some CS$. The prinsipal goes like this; the more educated your sims, the higher level of jobs they need. Remember that desirability and neighbour connection will also play an important rule in this case.
