Natrual grass foot path street mod? Does it exist?
^NaTaS^ replied to ^NaTaS^'s topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Indiana Joe: Are those dragable paths like streets (ie I can put a residential zone with no street next to it) and I wont have the no-car zot? If so that's almost exactly what I'm looking for. I feel they probably aren't though Magneto: I think I'll just give it a go. I probably wont worry too much about plopping props on transit networks that was just a curiosity at this point. I have thought of a few ways that I can probably still incorporate what I need by other means. Thanks for the advice APSMS! -

I went through all of them already but I just double checked to make sure. The dirt streets is the closest to what I'm looking for. I want something narrower and maybe a bit twisty if that doesn't look stupid. In your (or anyone else's) expert opinion how hard would it be to make something like that? Also is it possible to plop props on a street (ie tree props in the middle of the street in god or mayor mode) without it causing problems? -

So I was thinking I might try to do this myself but before I do that and reinvent the wheel... Is there a NAM puzzle piece or a street mod out there that anyone knows of that looks like a narrow foot path just worn into the natural grass texture of the map? It would have to be a draggable street for what I am planning to do with it since (correct me if I'm wrong) you can't zone R without at least a street adjacent to it. Thanks! -

as those guys from the Guiness Draught Commercials would say....BRILLIANT! when these get released on the STEX the admins should make an extra slot on the rating system so you can get an 11.

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support

Ok, I'm not sure where everyone lives, but here where i live, all we have is rural highways and overpasses are very hard to comeby. All major 4 lane highways (2 sets of parallel 2 lane 1 way roads) have roads or 2 lane highways (oposite direction) that run straight accross them. This way both lanes can be accessed and you dont have to build a huge and expensive overpass (no tax money for that kind of thing in a rural area.) There are no traffic lights, just stop signs. Traffic is not interupted, you stop, you wait, you go when there's no traffic. There's usually a short turning lane. Unless you come to a major intersection, (usually near a city) in wich case they put up a set of traffic lights. Overpasses are for city folk, not us country kids. If we're going for realisim, maybe we should have the option.- 3,919 Replies

I dont really have a prefrence as to what they should be called. Cool, Rad, Awesome, Genius? either of those works for me. Around here there really aren't exits off the highways as much as there are junctions. A road will meet a highway and rarely is there anything more than a yield with a small merge lane when turning right or a short turning lane. The roads/highways literally intersect with stop signs, and in a few cases (the main highways interesct) there are traffic lights. The only time you see an exit or an on/off ramp is when you have a clover leaf, or some other sort of highway interchange near a city, I can't think of any out in the country off the top of my head. Anyhow that's just my idea, i'd make pictures and post them of what that looks like...however I will be the first to admit i'm lazy. This last point is more related, and might go some place else, but i was thinking....most rural higways are raised, hence the term HIGHway. is there any way to make a hole digger, or a ground lifter that only lifts the ground a little bit so we could lay down our highways and have them slightly higher than the surrounding area? just a thought. anyhow enough for now. keep up the awesome work, this is the best thing to happen to simcity 4 since its initial development- 3,919 Replies
