  1. In addition to things already mentioned, here's my input: 1. Regions with adjustable city limits (because in reality there aren't too many square cities with imaginary edges). City limits should end on the edges of rivers, creeks, roads, etc. This should also include the option to annex neighboring areas. There should also be unincorporated towns. 2. Real rivers, creeks, lakes, and all other forms of running water above sea level that empties into the sea. This was one of my most favorite things about SC2K, and I miss it terribly. 3. Stages for cities, i.e. there should be a difference between a village, a town, an incorporated city, and megapolis. It would be nice if the city grew in stages so the city would look and feel its true size. 4. Fully dimensional road networks with zoning that connects to the edges of the roads you draw. The 45-degree increments severely limits the creativity in designing cities. Plus I would like to see low-density housing further away from the road. Rural areas shouldn't have urban-looking streets lined with houses. 5. I would also like to see the option to have less control over things in the game as I see fit, as Spinmaster already mentioned. I'd like to go further and have automated neighboring cities. I really liked the competition that SC2K had and the collaboration that SC3K had. With SimCity 4, I have to spend my time on several regions at once when instead I'd like to be the mayor of just one city. It'd be nice if the bedroom community next door was ran by an AI mayor. 5b. In addition to AI cities, I would like more prefabricated cities to start with. SC4 was more difficult to jump into, because there was relatively few examples to play with compared to SC2K which predated it be nearly 10 years. 6. Easier region terrain editor. SC2K was effortless, especially because of its great random terrain generator. SimCity 4 requires as much time editing the region than it does the city. -- Most of these have already been helped greatly by the wonderful community that surrounds SimCity 4, but it'd be nice if the next generation of SimCity had these things (which I deem a necessity) on release.
  2. Minocqua

A very nice looking map, but the config is pretty bizarre.
  3. City Journal: Recreation of Atlanta

If I were you, I'd figure out the Interstate system first, especially the strange and curvy route through downtown. Then I would at least get the basic layout of Atlanta's streets. That's going to be a real pain, since Atlanta's roads are hardly a grid, and SC4 only lets you do 45% angles. I've often thought of recreating Atlanta, but the problem I'm most concerned with is the layout of skyscrapers. SC4 generally wants skyscrapers to be clumped together in one CBD, but Atlanta has clusters of skyscrapers all along Peachtree Street. You're going to have to figure out how to get all the traffic onto Peachtree Street if it's going to look right.
  4. CocaCola Building

It's nice seeing a building on here that I see every day on the way to class. It does light up at night as previously mentioned. The rest of the building is relatively dark at night.
  5. Lake Point

Wow, that pool looks so realistic.
  6. DuskTroopers Cobalt Tower

I like everything but the entrance. Is that part of the modern style too?
  7. Port Townsend

Is this Port Townsend in Washington? It looks great either way, although the config is pretty unusual.
  8. Victoria Building

Finally -- a tall office building with small shops on the ground floor. About #@$&%*~ time! Hehe.
  9. ULMcDonalds

I haven't seen one of these classic looking McD's in a long time. It looks good, although no McDonald's looks right without some kind of drive-thru lane. Most of them do NOT have the playpen areas, but some tables would add to the look. GJ.
  10. El Nomade Company

I think for the building's size, it might have a little more than 87 people working there, but I still like it. I wish we had more of these smaller buildings. There are just too many skyscraper bats.
  11. Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

Maybe it's not perfect, but it still looks good as a museum in any SimCity.
  12. Radio Tower V20

Shouldn't it have some sort of support holding it up? The TBS Tower in Atlanta is about 1200 feet (estimate), and it has tons of support structures.
  13. San Diego v1.0

Hey, Epp. Looking good so far. I'd like to see more pics of downtown and the area just west of the airport with the bar of land that comes out into the water.
  14. Crystal Junction

I like B best. I really think there could be more expansion if the highway was a little further out. And you know the City Council will never accept a 40 million dollar budget over a 25 million dollar one! Hehe.
  15. Nexis BLS GA Historical Lighthouse

It looks pretty damn cool, especially against the original RH version. I've never seen a lighthouse with windows up the sides like that though. Interesting.
  16. Sanantonio

I thought San Antonio had a river, hence the infamous "River Walk" it has.
  17. Flatiron Building

BTW, I might be able to shed some light on the tallest building question. Perhaps there was some miscommunication, because Atlanta's Flatiron building, built in 1897, was the tallest building in Atlanta at its completion. The Flatiron in NYC is nearly identical to Atlanta's.
  18. Flatiron Building

Regardless of how accurate the building is, it looks great. Good job. Question for BATers and Lot Creators out there: would it be possible to make two lots (a 1x1 with the corner of the building and a 2x2 with the rest) that stacked next to each other to make this building work on corners?
  19. KoelnArena

Finally, an arena that isn't so huge...
  20. The Cobb Regency

Cobb is definitely one of the best up-and-coming designers at Simtropolis. Keep up the great work.
  21. Nexis Oil Pump

This'll be great for those southwestern regions!
  22. The Cobb Tower

Looks more like a residential building, but it's too big to be that. Beautiful all-around.
  23. Old University

This reminds me of the extravagence of the elementary school in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Agart, this is the best original building to be added to the BAT so far.
  24. Art Museum

It's not incredibly realistic, but it's still very solid work. Good job. The only thing I would change is the statue. Either design another one or just change the base of that one to match the color of the museum.
  25. Eiffel tower

The orange looks strange, but maybe it looks better in the game. Regardless, the detail your landmark has is terrific. Good work.
