i hate to be the one to mention this... but the fact that you guys allow us to place pictures on your server is great, but it is too easy... the fact that i can upload and format my pictures without even having to leave my post, much less the site, makes it too easy to use way too many pictures... why would i want to hassle with some other web site when using this one is sooo simple...!!!? take that simplicity away, you'll likely get more users using the external sites... i would suggest making there be a seperate place that pictures have to be uploaded, (on this site ofcoarse) then the addition of them in the text of our posts would have to be done the old fashoned way... make it a bit of a pain and people will be more likely to use your BW less often... another thing, while this site is ***!GREAT!*** becuase of all of the simply GUI available i would remove some of the less used features... like, everything i see around this box now... the smileys have to cost some hefty BW over coarse of how many posts per day... same with the formatting tools above... most posts dont use these features, and are thus a waste of your bandwidth... i would say making a link at the side of this dialog to say Advanced Formatting and Smileys so when people actually plan on using them, they will... otherwise... they wont! sorry if i ramble, its getting late

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
gripp replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
i dont know if it has been mentioned already, as i only skimmed a few of the pages; but what if, **in Addition** to pre-made access ramps/interchanges... there exists a thin little one-lane (half a road) that can only be dragged from the highway at appropriate angles (i.e. like the tracks) but intersect with roads and ave's at whatever angle? that way we could make custumn (?large raduis?) ramps that could better blend with our cities (instead of the monsterous eye-sours current highway interchanges are....) while this doesn't `quite` hit the hammer... but it shows how large they can be! leave it to me to build a bridge into the middle of the loops just for a bit more space too!- 3,919 Replies

Wide sidewalks with ploppable LOTs possible?
gripp replied to Wilfried Webber's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
i think a sidewalk/parking garge that is transit enabled and can sit between a res and the road to buffer the the noise would be cool... i mean, seriously though, how do sims living on the 50th floor get bothered by traffic noise?? but whatever... -

i think it was a bug of sorts... i built tons of a plazas and lowered the taxes further and kept zoning as if demand wasn't an issue... then, about 3 years after i started this trail my demand for everything jumped to the top!! and my zoned areas got top level buildings instantly, but since the res wasn't built for that amount of commercial, it crashed within about a half year! so i have a super sized spike for CO$$$ now its balanced again though, so i'm happy

i have this one city that seems to be problematic--it is part of a region that has about 7 cities, and is next to one other medium sister city that is doing good, and has demand. but this city, every time, no matter how i try to play it or how many times i delete it and try to make changes to the neighbor city, it gives me the same crap... right off the bat (well, soon after i lay my first zone) my demand goes to crap... res is good, but they can't get jobs and neither com or ind will grow at all it has even gotten to the point that **all** my sims are jobless (yes even the ones next to the border) after letting it run for a while. i've tried using some of the cap busting/demand tiles for com to no avail, my sims are well educated and high wealth (for the most part) the only thing i've found that worked was to plop the 8000 C$$ bank down... but thats kinda cheating and doesn't help with the demand issue... just makes it so that as i get more sims i have to build more banks....... the two cities on each side of this sister city are doing well, so it leads me to believe that the problem isn't becuase of the sister. but just something funky that i'm understanding here
