Creating the right conditions for strong CO$$$ demand
jaredhighwindII replied to jaredhighwindII's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I'm using the latest nam on a new custom PC I had a city that I ran for 101 years and it did get a commerical boom for a while then it just slugged off. A lot of high rises were abonedend because of the commute time. A think a big problem was I didn't have my city layed out properly. I realize after watching a lot of YouTube let's play videos that I wasn't properly utilizing avenues all over. Should I be using the biggest city tile for the CBD or a avg sized one? -
Creating the right conditions for strong CO$$$ demand

Hey I can't really find a definitive answer on this. If it has been covered redirect me to the topic and lock this Ok so I am starteding to realize that creating a CBD with strong Co$$$ demand requires a entire region. I have seen that some people use a whole city for CBD, a whole city for industrial and a entire city for residential. Is this a good way to go about it? Also how do I create a high volume of customers in the CBD, I've seen some youtube videos which I have gotten a lot of good ideas with layouts, aves highways and one way roads. Now do cities with CBDs need to have people living in them or will they commute from the next city tile? Also a large industrial cityy in the region is required for future commerical growth? -
plopable buildings effect CO$$$ demand?
jaredhighwindII posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
i was thinking of plopping all 5 buildings from the new WTC complex in my growing downtown city (of my region). Since they take up space i rather them provide jobs instead of just sitting there and being nice eye candy (they look AMAZINg, thanks to whoever took the time to make them). now if i plopped a building that created 10k CO$$$ jobs, would this effect my overall cities demand for CO$$$ business? -
what are those little warehouses? thats the only thing i'm missing and then my facility would look almost the same as yours. Amazing work, i put this is a neighbor city to my major downtown and it is providing much needed power. thanks !

plopable landmarks and CO$$$ question
jaredhighwindII posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
hey I've gotten back into simcity 4 now that i have a nice custom built PC that runs the game unbelievably stable. Now I have a well developed region with a central city that acts as the downtown region/financial dist/worldtrade dist with more suburban counties surrounding it. My city has experienced a massive commercial expansion over the past 20 years in my game so I've decided to build a worldtrade dist around a baseball stadium. Now I decided to use the new world trade center buildings in the exchange and they work great but here is my question; I've noticed that placing a world trade center with 4000 or so CO$$$ jobs can effect the overall CO$$$ demand in a city, so should i just be using landmark versions of these buildings or is it better off using the jobs plopable version? -
