Try each one separately in your sandbox and see which one you like. Thanks for your quick reply. I actually like the the simfox version a little bit better since it's not quite as dark as the gizmo version. Do you happen to know if I have to tear down all the replaced buildings by the darknite version before continuing playing or is good enough just to replace the files in the plugin folders?

There is a keyboard shortcut to switch to underground view but I don't remember which one it was. I cannot find any help in the manual either, can anybody help me and tell me what the keyboard shortcut is? Thanks
-
Thanks, I think that's it.
-
Depends on which underground view you want. The I-key will put you in the piping display. I don't know if there is one that takes you directly to the subway view, I generally use the menu. Thanks, but there was another key which let you see the underground configuration which is not available in the menu. It gives you a better view of the structure of your underground traffic system.

What is the best way to set up a region-wide power supply? I have more than 40 cities in one region growing now but I am getting tired of building and maintaining 5 or more power plants per single city. So how is it possible to set up, let's say one city, with one or more nuclear power plants and sell the electricity to the surrounding cities. Can one sell power from a city which is already buying energy supply to the next city? Any experience is welcome!

Nuclear Power Plants - Best Policy

I thought exactly the same thing. Maybe eventually the experts will chime in here a little later. -
Hello, if this is not the the right place to post this, please move! I just installed the Jobs Doubler (Industry) and it doesn't double anything, anybody had that before?
-
As I said already earlier, it started to work fine but only with original Maxis industrial lots. Custom made buildings/lots/bats are not affected. Thanks
-
Hello, this is a great thread. Maybe somebody can help me. There used to be a small mod which made neighbor deals more efficient, it came together with one of the custom made power plants but I don't remember which one and can't find it either. Maybe somebody remembers... Thanks in advance!

I took the time to REALLY look at that plugin. It only affects the in-game buildings, just so you know. Thanks so much, question answered and no more worries that something is wrong.
-
Hello, thanks for your reply. It finally started to work with some industry buildings but the BAT's and other custom made lots don't seem to be affected at all. Thanks again

What was the mod? Would be interesting to know!

Hello, finally it happened what I expected for a while now, my original CD (CD 2) gave up and I can't play the game the normal way any more. I am living in the Dominican Republic at the moment and can't find an English version of the game to buy. What are my options, are there legal downloads somewhere which are fully functional without a CD in the drive? I heard about "Steam" is this the exact same Simcity 4 Deluxe which is on the original CD set? Any input is welcome. Please disregard! Just found all the answers here on the board.

Hello, I just did a plugins cleanup and found a bunch of files with the extension .sav. Does anybody happen to know what are these files for or with other words, are they vital?
-
Thanks Mrbisonm, that really puts this clear.
-
I just checked the downloaded zip files and these *.sav files come with many of the downloadable zips. Why are they not taken out before uploading them to the STEX if they are not important for game play?
-
I don't think that saved city files end up in the plugins folder unless there is something wrong. The files I am talking about have names like the following examples: FC-Modern_Bus _StopStreet_dabf5ad3.sav Victorian Train Station - 2 Split Tracks.sav Eucalyptus Citriodora(b)-0x6534284a-0xb0b0bdaf-0x313ef4f4.sav and many more...

Route and Building Query tools

Sorry, this is a little off-topic but how did you get that exact result? Just parking? Is there a special tool for this? -
Route and Building Query tools
mido1960 replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
The query doesn't show only the people getting on and off the train at that particular station but all the passengers going through the station. I found that out when I cut the train connection to a neighboring city once. I also was wondering where all the people were coming from, they were actually coming from a neighboring city to work at the industrial area in the other tile. A siding definitely helps because of that. -
I keep a good control over my plugins folder by using DL Catalogue to install them. But what happens if you want to get rid of a plugin and don't remember or know in which city they are plopped or have grown? Is there a tool which tells where the plugins are present?
-
Let's say you want to clean your plugin folder, how would you get started? Is there any tool which shows you which buildings are present in a city? I am asking this because you would have to tear them down before removing any plugins.
-
I have about 1,900 inhabitants in my city and about 4,000 industrial jobs, but nobody is going to work or commuting, neither by car, as a pedestrian nor by bus. Nobody is coming from a neighboring city either. Do the people live in the factories? Where are the people who live in town are going to work? The chamber of commerce is showing that there is a workforce of roughly 850 people but the are staying at home. I am using the NAM. Everything seems to be growing nicely, lots of demand everywhere but I cannot find the "hidden tunnel" where people are going to work. No traffic either???? What's happening?
