Do you have a lot of mods for SC4? I had the same problem, and now SC4 never crashes. This is what I did, and you should try it. 1-Clear out every mod and BAT that you don't or rarely use, if your like me, you should have cleaned out about halve of your mods and BATs 2-Organize your mods, textures, and BATs. Put them all in separate folders with only mods, textures, or BATs. Name your folders EXACTLY like this in your plugins folder (including the numbers). This should resolve your problems!

I like your idea. Usually I will put about 5 or 6 buildings together in a small cluster, then separate the cluster with parks and transportation. I'll see if I can get a picture later to show you.
