  1. Post Modding Requests Here

I have need of a small hospital/medical center that has a lot size of 2x3 and has the same stats as the default Large Medical Center.
  2. PEG CDKN Navy Pier Four

How about one more of these Pegasus? A fifth base that is for an aircraft carrier that has tough requirements to unlock.

The modding tools we have look quite extensive, I just don't know how to use them yet. Originally posted by: z1 Since this would be monorail running on a passenger rail network, the speed could be set arbitrarily high, such as 10,000 kph, which would be high enough to simulate teleportation.quote> I was hoping to make the transport between two stations the same regardless of how far apart they are. Maybe we can't do it that way though. I guess we do have to connect them somehow and have a velocity on the connection. Originally posted by: z1 Since the network would be completely underground, there would be no evidence of traffic along it, other than route query arrows, which would seem to be acceptable.quote> There could be a "vehicle" like sparkly stuff making a straight line between stations. Originally posted by: z1 Of course, someone would have to take the time to create such a network and its associated puzzle pieces, which would be considerable.quote> This is probably the greatest problem. Originally posted by: z1 As for the teleportation stations themselves, they should have a rather low capacity, so that Sims don't start teleporting to the exclusion of other forms of transport.quote> Really? I think people would start abandoning "conventional" transportation if we ever invent teleporters in real life. Originally posted by: z1 They should also be very expensive to plop, with high monthly maintenance costs. All of this would be for the purpose of keeping these stations from interfering too much with the standard transportation system.quote> It would be expensive simply because it is advanced technology and would require a LOT of energy to do in real life as well. I wouldn't set the maintenance cost too high, just the power consumption. Maybe each station would consume about 3000 power. I underestimated to start with. My original idea was for this to be an ultimate form of transportation that requires high EQ (150ish) and a large I-HT population to unlock.
  4. ATeX Tubes Addon

I like this idea. Will it connect to regular monorail? I also have the idea to have a double monorail like this, like a normal one and a high one together. Might be good to send to the SimMars people as well.
  5. Teleport Station

I assume it is only legal reasons for not messing with .exe? Like I said, I think it can be done like a ferry except that it works on land and has no boat to display, but I am no expert on modding this game. I can't even get the modding tools to work or I would try to do this myself.
  6. Teleport Station

I want to have a teleport station network, much like the transporter on Star Trek. The functionality would be something like the ferry stations, except on land and a LOT faster. It could beam people (or perhaps ground vehicles too) from one teleport station to another in about 0.1 minutes of commute time. These buildings should be about 2x2 in size. The capacity should be about the same as other stations, around 2000. This should be expensive, about $10000 per station. Maintaining a station might cost $100 per month. The power cost is also enormous, perhaps 250 power required per station. We could limit them to 16 per city like the ferries, using a handwaved explanation about stability of the space-time continuum only allowing so many in a given area. Finally, a reward building could be a Grand Teleport Hub, much like the Grand Railroad Station in its unlocking requirements and capacities and a similar upscale in plop cost and maintenance costs.
  7. New ilive's Reader!

I'm not excited. I can't get a single one of his other tools to work.
  8. iLive - Building Tweaker (0.8.4)

Also no functionality on XP. AVOID THIS PROGRAM.
  9. iLive - Building Tweaker (0.8.4)

This sucks. No functionality whatsoever on Vista.
  10. building hunt

They are, but someone made a big industrial tower a while back and I want to find it again. I want to bring arcologies back. It made the game feel like two distinct games, one before reaching 100k people and another game after 100k. The requirement for arcologies will have to be higher now. I wonder if there is a way to make something require, say, 1k people on a small map, 4k on a medium and 16k on a large.
  11. building hunt

Does anyone know where to find that arcology-type-thing that is a tower with 10k high tech jobs? Other buildings like this would be nice too. I want to have arcologies for $$ and $$$ R and C as well as all levels of I. So 9 buildings in all. I am also wondering how to set the requirements to unlock something.

And while it doesn't always have better sound quality than mp3, it has the potential for it.quote> Okay, but Windows Media Player still can't play mp4. And my hatred for the Apple corporation forbids me from patronizing iTunes, anyway.quote> Same here.... a monopoly by microsoft should be legalised.quote> NOOO. Long live Linux!
  13. Post Modding Requests Here

Has anyone made a mod to automate the funding of education and medical buildings? I find it very annoying to continually adjust them, so a program that would give each education and medical building the minimum funding it needs would be amazing.
  14. I want to: 1. add/edit disasters 2. add ordinances 3. add something like the arcologies of SC2K 4. edit requirements for special buildings (gifts) to show up 5. add a $$$$ wealth level I don't mind trying to hardcode if necessary, I'm just not sure what program to use to do it...
  15. I want to change the disasters and I don't know how. Here is what I want to do: I see no need to change Autosaurus, Earthquake or the Robot. The Meteor, Volcano, Tornado, Fire, UFO and Lightning disasters should be variable in intensity. I could see doing them like a terrain tool or making them like the Earthquake by having them get stronger the longer the mouse button is held down. For example, I want the Meteor to range from a pebble that wastes maybe a 4x4 area to a huge asteroid impact that levels an entire small city. The Volcano could go from a tiny thing that makes a little magma to a supervolcano mountain that shoots lava all over a medium city. The Tornado could go from a tiny twister to a very wide one, and it should survive over water. Waterspouts exist, they are just weaker than land tornadoes. The Fire should vary between a small house fire and a raging forest fire-type-thing that can wipe out a whole city. The UFO could vary its Independence Day-style area effect beam and spout more or less small UFOs. The Lightning could be more intense; what is in the game now should be a 1 on a 1-10 scale because my experience is that it is a joke disaster. I want several new ones too. First, we need a button that causes a Nuclear Meltdown. It would be nice to bring back the Whirlpool from SC3K as well as the Hurricane or Flood from SC2K. A Tsunami would be an acceptable replacement for the aforementioned water-based disasters. An Air Strike could be a good one, which calls in some Jet Fighters like those from Area 5.1to bomb your city. (This could cause a U-Drive-It mission to fly a Jet FIghter or UFO to defend your city from the attackers.) A button that causes an angry mob to Riot would be nice. There could also be multiple disasters such as a Meteor Swarm, Multiple Fires, or Tornado Superstorm. I wish I knew how to make all of this happen!
