bfairin: The future of US280 in Birmingham area is that is to upgraded to a 8-lane freeway with frontage roads in the next decade, from I-459 to the Coosa River at Childersburg, with limited access going all the way to Jacksonville, FL through Georgia if Sen. Richard Shelby has his way. As for the other bad roads, I must agree that Alabama has some of the worst. Have you ever traveled I-20/59 through the city of Birmingham itself? Going east to west, the fast lane becomes the slow lane, the curves are ridiculously sharp with very little superelevation, and lots of left on and off ramps. On the other hand, the new freeway portions of US78/Future I-22 are amazing! The road follows the contour of the land, has high bridges, minimal cuts, forest right up to the right of way. It reminds me more of an autobahn than an Interstate. Sort of like I-20 in East Mississippi, but with much better pavement and real acceleration and deceleration lanes.

Is a "final" version of this great station ever going to be released?

Buggi, I feel that the only things that REALLY need to be fixed are the transit puzzle piece crashing to desktop bug and the complete opening of transit networks, allowing what ever modders could come up with, be it double decked bridges or 18 lane freeways. Oh, and submenus would be fun as well. I'd really like those. Just sayin'. Three cheers for Buggi!

It seems that the commute is too far, as those are all streets and I don't see any mass transit. Try building a pair of one-way roads to the freeway and appropiate interchanges, that should help a lot with the problem.

So, I haven't been able to locate a support thread, but I thought the Powers that Be in the HSPR world would like to know this... Yesterday, the game started crashing to desktop if I dragged a HSPR line for more than 7-8 tiles diagonally at a time. So, being a diligent tester, I only left NAM and HSPR in my plugin folder and the problem is still occuring. At first, I thought it was crashing when it crossed an avenue diagonally, so I bulldozed the avenue and it still occurs. I'm running a bunch of mods, if you'd like some more info please PM me.

I'm a long-time lurker who bought SC4 and RH on their respect release dates. For more than a few months I was a hardcore player and got lots of delicious early BATs and modds. I have recently quit playing World of Warcraft, it had eaten my life and my girlfriend told me it was the game or her. I still have a decent amount of time to play games, its just that SC4 doesn't require me to be online at a certain time. Currently, I am working on sorting out my plugins and getting some of the awesome recent BATs, modds, and addons working just right (NAM, RHW, Voltaire's airports, and any PEG and BSC projects still amaze me), I'm also working on SC4Terraformer. Once I get it all down I'm going to start my first CJ, I don't like to settle for anything less than perfection. As for me, I'm a college student in Jackson, MS, USA. Other than SC4, I enjoy brewing beer, drinking said beer, motorcycles, literature (I'm an English major), and learning the mysteries of teaching (Education minor). If anyone has any questions, just let me know. Also, on a random note, I can't figure out to place pictures "in-line" with a forum post, html code doesn't seem to work. What am I missing?

Future of SimCity Official Discussion Thread
BigSlark replied to Compromise's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Jersey_17001: Do you have any more info than that? I have close relatives in the UK... -
Its far cheaper eating in than out. I am able to have a decent breakfast (cereal, milk, toast/bagel, and some fruit), a frozen lunch with fruit and cookies, and a really good dinner (small amout of meat, some starch, vegetables) for around $50 U.S. a week and eat extremely well. On the other hand, it costs, on average, $5 per meal for fast food, and when you add the future health costs of eating the crap, the price gets to be astronomical (to use one of my favorite SC3000 terms). Of course, you have to be able to cook and have a kitchen, but that's a different story altogether. And if you can't cook, well, find someone that can and beg them to show you how to do it. I'd start a recipe thread, but my mother taught me my great-grandmother's recipes, which involve a list of ingredients that one adds to taste. So that's my two cents.

I need some help... As this picture shows (sorry for the link, don't have my own webspace and I didn't want to use simtropolis bandwidth), I'm having the infamous Brown Boxes show up with this mod. I've checked my plugins folder and I have all the dependencies installed, as well as Cycledogg's general ploppable tree mod. It only occurs in high and medium wealth residential areas, commerical and low-wealth residential are just fine. Whats wrong here? I love the look of this mod, it brings us even closer to SC5. I'd really like to figure out a resolution to my problem. Thanks again jeronij for your great work, I particularly love your seawalls. <img src="http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/9268/missingpropgg8.th.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us" />

I've been looking and haven't been able to find a mod that controls traffic. I have a very old mod that allows you to plop "NO TRUCKS" on streets, roads, one-way, and avenues, I use it to keep trucks from taking shortcuts through residental areas. Now, I'm finding I have the same issue with regional bus services. The automata has the busses exit a highway near the city limit (the west side for example), take back streets, then get back on the highway on the north side of town! I haven't been able to find any solutions. Suggestions?

Out of desperation, I deleted d3d9x_30.dll and dropped another version I got from the DLL files website and all is well! Thanks for releasing this awesome tool, I've been playing with it for the past 20 minutes! I'm always suspicious of Windows, and today is no different...

I just downloaded and attempted to run SC4T with the error "DirectX Cannot Be Loaded, check the readme.html." So, I ensured that I had all the .dll's required, and I do. Check my DirectX version, its the latest version available from MS. I rebooted (to see if residual memory issues from CS: Source or SC4 or Google Earth were causing problems) and still no luck. I know I'm virus and spyware free, my Windows XP SP2 install is less than 2 months old. Specs: AMD A64 3200+ OC'd to 2.6 Ghz 2048 MB DDR eVGA 7600GT KO PCIE Around 185GB free HD space on the drive I extracted the ZIP to. Anyone have any ideas?

What a great CJ! I've been lurking on Simtropolis for quite a while and this is the first time I've felt the need to post. You've inspired me to do my own CJ, complete with the great looking seawalls and terraforming with streets. Thanks for the inspiration!
