Hi Rafe, congratulations on your first post! According to the strategy guide, the garbage decomposes at a rate of about 7 percent a month (up to 15 tons) so you would think that after 2 decades it would be all gone. Maybe it takes a lot longer for that last bit to decompose to try to simulate that many businesses/people are still wary of developing on a former landfill years after its been covered up and decommissioned. rhino

Well said Tonks! It's amazing what people sometimes say when there is some level of anonymity behind their words.

Hi SG, Really love the material you release. I downloaded the Waste to Energy plant and have a question about it. I built 2 of them in a brand new city and was importing garbage from a neighbor. However, they don't appear to be generating much power...I've got less than a 1000 population and no power zots popping up in the only residential area I've got. Some of the residences are getting power, so I know some power is being generated. Every time I check the query the funding to both plants is 25 simoleons. I change the slider to increase the funding, close the query, come back and the funding is back at 25. It may be that I'm missing something in the importing garbage idea, but I thought I'd check with you to see if you have any ideas what's going on. rhino EDIT: Disregard the above - it worked itself out after about a year game time.

any one know how to lower commute times?
rhino120 replied to jackel.22's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
The best advice I can give is get the NAM (you said you weren't using any other mods). Also, without seeing your city, I might suggest that sims will only walk so far to a subway station (I'm not sure, but I think it's 6 squares) and without parking facilities near the station, sims who are already in cars are not then going to use the subway midway in their trip. Hope that helps, rhino -
Thanks!

Congratulations to both of you! -
The RTK3 icons are located in Seaports. As far as the sea walls, the land that you plop the wall on has got to be level and the drop to the seaside should be fairly steep to get the best appearance. Sometimes you'll have to raise/lower the terrain to get the desired effect. rhino

Hi Becca, Just downloaded your lot and it looks great. Just one problem though, the plop version doesn't have the chain link fence around it. I do have the chain fence dat installed. Any insight? Dana
