  1. Farm Towns

I have never been able to get a 1200 farm jobs in a small city--but a medium city is just fine. It will take about two thirds or more of the city to get enough farms. In one corner I start a small city using 4 by 9 spaces surrounded by road. I fill the center with R$. About six of these is a good start. I then build a 15x15 farm (the largest i can make), when it grows another next to it and one below it, using road around it. When finished I have six farms surrounded by road. I repeat this over and over, until the map is about two thirds full. In spaces where this is not possible I fill in with smaller farms. I keep checking the chart to see how many jobs i have going. I usually hit about two thirds when i reach 1200 jobs. I keep adding residents to fill the jobs. Once I get the 1200 jobs, I then concentrate ons building R$ and R$$ to get the population of 3500 required for the state fair. It also takes some parks. Once i have the State fair i place it in an area that later will be commercial. The only thing I give the sims is water--no highways, subways--they will drive to work!At such a low population they do not need schoolls police etc. Once i place the State fair--I move on to the next city I want to be a farming community and repeat the process the same way. When i have all the farming cities I want for the region, I can then start adding the ammenities they need. But if you put in too much it just makes building the next farm city more difficut. Once you add education the sims no longer want to work on farms. R$ and R$$ will work farm jobs if that is all tht is available. You have to put in all your farming communnities in first in your region. You only need 3500 sims to build a farming communnity--pretty easy to do if they are not touching a major cityIf all you have in your region is farm jobs, they will work them. Do not water the farms. Later i go back and build right over the farms. This is the easiest way i know to do it with no cheats and mods. You just have to build enough farms to get the jobs---later you go back and make a real city if you want.
  2. Your first SC4 city

You mean those early cities, the ones that had to have everything much to soon and caused me to go broke very quickly, requiring constant borrowing with no hope of salvation! And the heady expoerience of finally building a poorly functioning city that was making money. I was getting good at this game. lol
  3. SCS a Disappointment?

A dissapointment for EA? Awww! The sad thing is they are still promoting and selling this "dissapointment". They should be recalling it. I am sure a LANDFILL somewhere would take them. I bought the game and returned it to Wal-Mart and got my money gack on this defective product. I went through a clerk, asked for a supervisor, then a manager--i asked the manager for the name and adresses and phone n umbers of the President and CEO so I could sue...So at that point the manager decided the game was defective and they would make an exception and i got my money back. I think of all the people who will get this game for Christmas and how "disapointed" they are going to be. Ea should just admit the game is defective, take thier lumps and recall the game. It would do them more good than to continue to promote and sell it.
  4. What would you need to buy this game?

I solved all my problems with SCS. I took a print out of the "Exception dll error", a url to SCS site, the url to secure rom, my register tape and the opened game to WalMart. They tried to tell me it was a law that they could not give a refund. I told them they were confusing an agreement betweeen the seller of the game and the manufacturer of the game. An agreement is not a law. After twenty minutes of convincing a clerk and a manager that the game was defective and asking for the name of the clerk, the manager, an address and phone number to the CEO and President of Wal-mart and the threat of a law suit for not backing up defective merchandise I was given a refund. Would I buy it again--not even out of the bargin bin. Maybe if they recalled it and worked on it until it worked for everyone---nah, not even then. I already have a copy of city life sitting on my shelf gathering dust because it will not load past 98 percent, so it is unplayable. I was not going to be suckered again. If EA was planning on a hot new francise, boy, they are off to a bad start.

  6. GAME OVER

This is part of the game. When you are deeply in debt, your ungrateful simmie citizens will fire you. Ya gotta start over.
  7. General Xenotek

About time the industrial area gets some attention. This looks ten to me.
  8. Hardees

I am sure my little sim citizens willl love going to Hardees. They need a bit of high calorie food available.
  9. GooberGen Aquarium

I love the eye candy look of this building!
  10. Castalia

    What a great building!
  11. PEG Trail Park Fountain Plaza

Great Plaza--will add a touch of beauty to downtown areas. Plus i just love getting new parks!
  12. Simtropolis Bullies?

It might do some of the people on here to realize not all of us have great computer skills. When you consider some are computer genius level and understand everything, while others are (like me) more of grade school level, this can cause difficulty. I would never ask a question on here because from what I have read, I would be told I am in the wrong forum. I am not very bright, I should use the search engine. As for the search engine, great when you know exactly what you want and can type in the key word, but a general search can bring up so much unrelated information. Just try typing in CJ--way to many pages. But i will continue to read and attempt things and eventually learn. I really enjoy adding the downloads and things to my game it makes my game so much better. Not everything I download works, but eventually i will figure it out. And the read me--yeah, I use that. Some are nice with direct links, others are just thanking a few people and not telling me what i need. Bullies--I think not. It is more frustrated experts with no patience for those who are not. Perhaps the best rule is--if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing! And this my very first post on here.
