  1. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

So now there are 4 versions of these stations: NAM36, mmprog's, the ones included in NAM 37RC, and yours (in chronological order). Each of the first 3 also have a LRK rep count of 1, no different that yours. I don't see how that has helped.
  2. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

NAM 37 Release Candidate is currently available exclusively on the LEX. Please note that this is still under public testing, so if you have any issues, please let us know. Once NAM 37 is finalized, I believe it will be available on both the LEX and STEX, barring any unforeseen issues. There is no definitive timeline for this, so please check back.
  3. Mysterious Glitch For SimCity 4 Mac

There is this post and this one. Where is it that you learned about the slope bug?
  4. Mysterious Glitch For SimCity 4 Mac

And this is why the NAM Team's support policies are as they are. It is a very complex mod, with an untold number of moving parts, handled by an entire team of people that usually work together as a single unit.
  5. Mysterious Glitch For SimCity 4 Mac

PM me your email and I will check on your account status. I should be able to manually activate your account. This is for the forum or the LEX? there is a separate registration required for each.
  6. Mysterious Glitch For SimCity 4 Mac

I'm gonna tag @Tarkus so he sees this. I think the 64bit Steam version may have a different Plugins folder than the MAC store version? But I'm not sure that the Steam version had been released when the RC was being finalized. And just so nobody thinks they have to take my word for NAM team matters: That's as official as it's gonna get.
  7. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

The BSC Team has always set the bar high when it comes to quality control and tech support. That is why it is such a high priority for me as well.
  8. Mysterious Glitch For SimCity 4 Mac

The two stations that have been found to cause CTD's have been corrected in the the NAM 37 Release Candidate. The official support cycle for NAM 36 has ended, and the team has shifted all focus to putting the final touches on the final version of NAM 37. Some known bugs have been fixed. The MAC 64bit version may break things that worked perfectly fine. The only way to know for sure is to get feedback on the latest version, which is exclusively available on the LEX during this public testing phase.
  9. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

@Tyberius06 have you checked the LRK rep counts on Maxis stations in SimCity_1.dat? They are all set to 0. As are each and every station I've just looked at in NAM. But there have been absolutely no MAC compatibility issues reported with any @mattb325 lots. So let's not try to fix what ain't broke.
  10. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

I wonder if police and fire would also be effected. Any idea about how these rep counts are changed? Tibi seems to think that LE may be changing the LRK rep count. The timing of the CTD's may help us to diagnose the issue, or at least narrow it down. From what I understand, Plugins with the slope bug cause CTD at city startup, whereas the transit bugs are happening when trying to plop the building. I've found that updating the building and lot files in PIMX will correct all of the MAC compatibility issues we've found so far. It's kinda frustrating not being able to do the necessary testing myself.
  11. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

For the record, I did post in the NAM Team's private board. Since you have posted in that thread, I know that you have full access. But since Tarkus has been following this thread from the very beginning, he was well aware of the stations, and they have been included with the NAM 37 RC. NAM is the most commonly used custom content, so it should really be no surprise that these CTD issues were reported almost immediately with the 64bit release. Again, these fixes were posted in the thread we're in now. Sharing information and where it can be found is how a forum works. It is not intended as a personal attack towards you or anyone else. But it is not my obligation to spoon feed this information to you or to explain what it all means.
  12. Making a Library Functional

If you feel like you need a bit more guidance, I am available on the SC4D Discord channel quite regularly. That might be easier.
  13. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

I have no control over what "tone" you infer from my post, but there was none implied. I was simply trying to point out that there was more information available, namely that we don't quite have all the facts yet. We aren't trying to hide anything from you. The files and results were posted publicly. You even posted in the thread. As Tibi just explained, at this point there really isn't enough data for a conclusive judgment to be made, but I felt there was enough of a question to warrant me mentioning it before any work is done on a tool that will automate changing rep counts. I have in no way made any attempt to discourage you from helping people with these compatibility issues. In fact, I very much believe that ST staff should take an active role in the matter. But you have to realize that I have pretty much been point man on the matter since the 64bit version was released back in February, with mmprog being a great asset with his testing. I've been following which files have been reported, which have been fixed, which haven't, new bugs as they're reported, etc. It's great to have Tibi up to speed and able to tackle files as they're reported now. I make myself available here, at SC4D, in the SC4D Discord chats, in the SC4 subreddit, and even on Facebook if you know me well enough. The overall SC4 community is not limited to the pages of one forum, nor will our discussions be. In fact, I prefer the ability to chat in real time about certain things, Some people are more inclined to ask questions when they can do so in a more private chat. You are more than welcome to help. Like I could stop you if I wanted to. But I do ask that you get yourself up to speed, so that we can all be on the same page. Like with the NAM stations. Those have been fixed since February 26th and have been included in the NAM 37 RC. From what I understand, once the RC is available, the support cycle for the previous version ends, as some bugs have already been fixed. Which is the case here.
  14. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

Sorry, you're right. I'm getting the threads jumbled together. It was actually this thread. The Simmer2 file mmprog posted was found to be problematic in his own testing, while the version Tibi posted solved the issue for him. The details aren't explicitly laid out in the thread, but they have been discussed on Discord. At this point the matter needs more testing.
  15. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

Testing done in this thread (on this same page) suggests that there are at least some Float32 properties that absolutely do require the rep count of 1.
  16. Mysterious Glitch For SimCity 4 Mac

These were two of the first lots reported in the main 64bit thread, and have already been corrected for the NAM 37 RC. It would probably save us all time if those of us that are working on this issue could get on the same page.
  17. Making a Library Functional

If a smaller building has the same stats as a larger one, then it's likely that the stats were manually copied over in Reader. Meaning no formula was followed at all for the final release of the file. This was quite common before the release of PIMX, as was using whatever stats looked good. I haven't seen @simcitynate say what his actual goal was in remodding the building. Editing the properties manually in Reader is a bit more difficult and requires knowing which properties to change exactly, as well as which properties have to match one another. Adjusting the filling degree up or down in PIMX should allow the goal to be achieved, while maintaining the balance of all stats. One note about the radius: it is written in km, not tiles. Divide by 16 to get the coverage in tiles.
  18. SC4 for Mac 64-bit

What did the error description say?
  19. Making a Library Functional

Ok, this is just not quite accurate. There is generally little difference between a building desc created using Maxis tools and one made with the same model using PIMX and the default filling degree of 0.5. In fact, the main differences you'll find will be minor things such as power/water consumption, pollution outputs, etc. The filling degree simply allows greater accuracy of a building's stats, should the model take up more or less than 50% of its LOD. Perhaps the model is a W2W that consumes the entire LOD box. Or perhaps it has a large base but a 60ft antenna at the top. You can use the filling degree to compensate for any scenario. In fact, CAM has very little to do with the building desc in this sense. CAM simply introduces additional lot growth stages. For lot creation, PIMX is designed for CAM, yes. But that only applies to growables. For civic buildings, such as a library, growth stage isn't a factor. There is no such thing as a CAM library. There are civics better suited for cities with larger populations, just as there are civics better suited for more rural towns. The rural varieties generally have manually adjusted stats, to provide larger coverage areas. Civics intended for use in a metropolis tend to be larger buildings to start with, so PIMX stats are quite suitable.
  20. Making a Library Functional

In the left pane, the very top, you should see Standard Models. Click that and PIMX will show all of the models in the folders you have loaded. But you really should take the time to read the guide I linked, as it does walk you through the entire process. It is highly recommended that you only load the folders with content you want to work with. If you're looking at Libraries, then you are in the Buildings area. This area shows existing building descs. You can adjust these by right clicking and "recomputing as". When prompted, enter a suitable filling degree. Now, for files designed for personal use, you can "cheat" and use a much higher filling degree than a building should have. This will keep all of the building's stats in line though, so more capacity will come at a greater cost. But it would likely be preferable to use Reader so that you can alter only the stats you want to change.
  21. I fully understand that legacy uploads will be prone to the transit bugs. I also understand that the slope bug is so obscure we don't even know what program causes it yet. And with less than 10 lots being reported with the slope bug so far, there's really just not going to be a lot of information about it repeated. But I know that there is an entire section of the forum dedicated to MAC users, and since at least 2008, they have been trying to bring attention to the transit bug issue. These lots have always been completely useless to them. And as you mentioned, we have an entire NAM team dedicated to nothing but transportation aspects of the game and custom content. There is almost always someone available to check over anything you're not 100% confident in, as Tibi found out when Brian tested his GLR stations. The information is out there and help is out there. And both of those are true for damn near every area of custom content that has been conquered so far.
  22. I've never owned a MAC and I've known about the transit bug for well over a decade, and diagnosed the recent CTD's due to the slope bugs. Reading is fundamental.
  23. That would be an issue to discuss with MAC users. Honestly, you'll still have the same problems with the same files, but it may be less severe. So I don't think it makes that much of a difference.
  24. BSC actually has someone handling tech support, thanks. I have made the necessary MAC corrections and updated the file on the LEX. So the previously attached files can be removed, please. @nickvon, I believe most of your issues with downloaded files will be MAC-specific, so it would probably help everyone involved for you to post future threads in the MAC support area of the forum. It's definitely not your fault. And we do appreciate you finding these errors so that they can be corrected.
  25. Making a Library Functional

You need to drag the model file to the category on the left to create a new building desc. You're trying to drag over the existing desc.
