I have the latest NAM and even then I very often (albeit randomly) get CTD when I save; dunno if I'm able to use all the RAM I have. Definitely need to develop the habit of saving every other minute... just now lost about 30 minutes of stuff.

This isn't exactly a new problem, but I think it's the sole reason why I'm unable to save the game with a guarantee that it won't CTD. Typically when I save, there's a pretty high chance (50%ish) that just before it displays the "You have saved" screen, it CTD. Likewise, CTD happens at random times when playing. I'm thinking the above problems could be related to this one (see screenshot). This crazy graphics glitch can disappear but reappear at random times. My computer should definitely be able to handle SimCity. Any idea what is wrong?

There's a similar topic on this board but upon reading the posts I think my situation is a little different. I don't know if this can be solved but I figure might as well try before I delete the city and start again. I've been playing this city for a week with no problems. Tonight, for the first time, it randomly froze. Usually I'll just manually end task and reopen but this time the music didn't freeze, so I waited it out and sure enough, the game unfroze itself. I decided to save and it did, but then suddenly after I clicked "okay" it CTD. Now everytime I try to open the city, it CTD, usually about 30 seconds into loading. This doesn't happen with my other cities in the region. I cleared all the plugins (both in My Documents and Program Files) but it made no difference. This is a pretty new computer and it's been running SimCity fine so far. From the region view (and the city loading view), there is this one structure I don't recognize... any idea what it could be? I don't recall ever plopping this into the city. I also have the newest NAM. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately that didn't work. Thankfully I wasn't too far into that city so deleting it isn't too big of a deal. I just hope it doesn't happen again! Thanks for all the help.

I use to put them into my cities, but lately I haven't put any of them in my city because they take up so much room and I remember reading somewhere that they don't go well near residential areas? So is there a purpose of cemeteries that I'm not aware of? Thanks.

My school was a classic suburban high school. My graduating class a few years ago had 750 people. Right now I think the total student body is at least 3,400. My county has 800,000 people and the school district has about 175,000 students.

I asked about this before, but it was a growable, so I just dezoned it. But this was a plop (with jobs)... any idea how to get rid of it? In case anyone wants to know, this is the Campbell Mithun tower by Swat Medic.

It gets to 32%, when it should be downloading SimCity_3.dat, it says: "Unable to locate required file or required file is corrupted" This never happened before, and I'm only trying to dl it again because I reformatted my computer. The CD worked fine just a few days ago...

The lot stays even though the building isn't there. So it's basically like there is a building there, but no stats, and no building... just the lot. I can't build anything on top of it. Dezone + save + reload doesn't work.

Yep mine is the same as Duke's comment. I dunno if this was intentional, or if was brought up before, but would it be possible to swap the topic link colors? So the unread is in dark blue, and the read is in light blue (so the emphasis is on unread threads)?

I've been wondering lately about what you all do regarding tram/glr systems in your cities. Do you guys add the ground transport while planning your city? Or demolish buildings to make way for transit after your city develops? The thing I'm the most curious about is above ground transportation (el-rail, GLR, T-RAM). Subways are easy since they don't require much demolishing (can be none at all with the RTMT). Do you guys opt for el-rail? Or ground transit? How do you choose what to use? Personally I've always been unsure of when to add things like glr. If I add it while planning, then it might not be used much as the area that I added it to didn't develop as I had hoped. But if I add it afterwards, it makes for a lot of demolishing to make way for the new rail (although ridership is great), which can be complex and tedious. I mean, I could just use a subway system, easy, outta sight. But where's the fun in that right?

It started today; happened twice. When I save (ctrl-S), usually it'll give me the save confirmation box. But two times today, same city, different times of the day, it never gave me the box and it just stood there frozen. Anyone else have the problem? And if so, how do ya fix it? Thanks!
