3 pointsWell, i dont see something wrong, actually it is a great bat. I dont have any suggestions for the things you 've done already. But you finished with the back side side of the building? I think not but if yes you should add some garbage bins and stuff like that. The other thing i was thinking about, was to make something like a small garden in the front sides of the building. This building has the special Central Park East/West style and many of these have a small garden in the front, so it ma ybe a good idea to make one, it can make the building more beautiful and special. Just a suggestion, here is what i mean: From Central Park East:
-
2 pointsVlasky: this could be a problem, but if there is enough space i think Aaron should give a try. And yes the idea for the back side is great.
-
2 pointsAlthough you are right Alexandros about NYC apartments having "small gardens" in front of them, adding it to this one would disturb 1.66m depth of building from road. At least I think so. For the back of the building, I agree, you should have some trash containers there and some exit door. which shouldn't be anything fancy, just simple metal panel. If you don't want trach behind this building, you can add a grass patch and a tree, cuz many of those buildings have their backyards

2 pointsNo I don't think it needs more light I think the lights inside are too bright and the ones at the top to soft, also the cone is too narrow. For the beacon I thin you can use a self illuminating material that wont produce the cone, I don't really know but maybe you can use a Maxis cone of light as a prop in the LE editor but again I don't know this and I may be completely wrong. But I would worry about the lights at the very end your priority should be first the model, then the textures and the lights at the end...I think the black and white pattern looks better but you know you have a clear line that follows the white pattern, that should't be to hard to correct (are you following the procedure I recommended you for the texture?).

2 pointsSurprise! Even though I have talked about a surprise project I haven't said what it is. Here it is, an Extra Large Park "Green". Very similar to the original Large Park Green except I added a ranger station and several more props to the lot. Hope you like it, I will release this if I get positive replies. I really enjoy lotting and I could become a good lotter. Uses just plain old Maxis props, I don't want to use anyone else's props in lots I relase here on the STEx. --Bahamd81, and if you want me to improve it, I will do so, this is NOT the final attempt, but I [personally] like it I forgot to include the picture, here it is:

2 pointsMy surprise project is coming out today or tomorrow, I still can't tell you what it is, it's a surprise!
-
2 pointsNice idea but I don't want to have any dependencies on this file. I released it already (too late for v1) but I might use those in v2, which I will release after I finish my current Surprise Project. Anyway, you can download the woods set here: Woods Set v1 Bahamd81
-
2 pointsYou should add more signage variatiob of the BB&T bank, ie. make more variations like Comerica, BBVA and HSBC. Also, if you do golden corral, do the one that ccman gave you, gives you a challenge how you could model the windows, and please use snap and polygonal modelling. The lighting in the Golden Corral looks quite challenging as you need to use spotlights and omnis now, as well as self illuminating panels. I suggest using dependancies but ones that are really complete and common like SG vol 01 and BSC Textures vol 1. BSC textures make it easier to align the BAt while SG vol 01 makes the lot better. You could try for a seasonal look with BSC CP vol 01 props, they also include better looking cars. Keep in mind, when using dependencies avoid rare dependancies. You should use 3d windows so it doesn't look flat and made in an hour. It isn't that hard but creates a huge difference. I'm on the ipad now since my computer came down with overheatjng issues after 5 years of use.

2 pointsUnfortunately, the stump wouldn't work, it would've been great in my woods! It says the folder is invalid. I am still planning to release my woods, I am going to mix up the types of trees in my 3rd attempt because my current one only has oak and maple trees. I will add pine and spruce trees to my third attempt, which could be my release if I get positive Reviews. --Thanks for making the stump, but Unfortunately it didn't work I wish it did! But anyways, I am going to continue my third attempt. It'll be on here in about 30ish minutes.
-
2 pointsSee how much you have improved? I think it is time to start using polygon modeling instead of making all out of primitive shapes, have you learned to use the snap tool? Try to develop an eye for details, for example in for your model of Church chicken the windows are considerably more elongated in the z plane. In the RL building the red line is not at the same level, it is a little e bit lower at the back. The front door is at the same level as the windows and the back door looks a bit small...Remember to resolve all the measurements before starting to model something. Well done you are in the right direction.
-
2 pointsHere are the stumps, you don't have to give me credit for them., i'm also excited about the surprise. Stump.zip Stump.bmp

2 pointsI am working on this, and also a surprise project (It's a surprise, I'm not going to tell you what it is)! The woods could be released tomorrow if I get good reviews on my second attempt. I might re-release my old Parking Lots if I can get them to save. I will make some lots in the future, I still dont have enough experience for requests though. Maybe even one day, I'll make BATs! But that won't be soon. My old Parking Lots weren't good at all, I was younger when I released those. Now with a good deal of LE experience I can make more than just Parking Lots. --Bahamd81, I'm sure you guys are excited about the Surprise Project!

2 pointsLike really like what your are doing, we need more banks, fast food restaurants and need more shops, like bike shops, pawn shops, video stores, game shops, beauty shops so the ladys can get there hair did, what else...... O yea, barber shop so the men can get there hair cut and spas and nail shops so the ladys can get there nails and feet did.
-
2 pointsI suggest that you get rid of a couple of those trees, because it looks a little crowded. Other than that, looks good!

2 pointsOK I made I was thinking Popeyes But I was thinking and A Churchs Chicken is what we have. I will get pics of that one for you.
-
2 pointsOk, here it is, my first attempt: If you want an ingame pic I will do that later. It will look like that after all the saplings grow, there will be a few big trees and lots of saplings. That is a 100% fully grown pic of the woods. Note: It is nowhere near completion and it still has lots of work.
-
2 pointsThis is going to be great I know there are other fast foods on the STEX, but I have them already.
-
2 pointsReally great job. This bat is beautiful. Now, I want to see what your lotting will look like.

2 pointsIt's [almost] Bo Time in SimNation! When Bo Time arrives, people from all over SimNation will come and get a super tailgate special and head over to my Major League Baseball Stadium. They will tailgate and watch the team win. AWESOME JOB FREX_CEAFUS! Right around the time I found my SC4 CD (I lost it), I wanted a Bojangles for my city. No luck at first, but then I find a forum that said you are making one! Sweet! Ty guys, you are really nice. --Bahamd81, I am starting a lot thread today, come check it out.

2 pointsI'm planning on making a drive thru like this---> to order, then they pick it up at the drive thru window.

2 pointsbahamd81: I still need to add details on Bojangles, and work on the model some more before I release it, I want it to be perfect.

2 pointsIf there was a "like" button, I'd have clicked it for this. @Gringamuyloca - most of his posts seem spiteful and mean spirited but I think it might be down to both age and English not being his first language. There is a like button and some of us have already pressed it. I think the white pavement (used for the steps and the courtyard) is too bright. And I do think the building ought to be scaled up. To me it feels kind of small, especially knowing that those maxis buildings aren't very big themselves. Also, you've mentioned your rendering times before, but if you have any room at all, go to the bitmap of your mural material. There, find a parameter called "Blur" which is by default 1.0. If you lower this to something like .2 or .1 it will make it A LOT sharper. This value is basically how sharp it bothers to render the bitmaps, and at 1.0 it's lazy and is only doing a mediocre job. The other parameter is the filter, which you can choose between pyramidal, summed area, and none. summed area is the higher quality filter and it's the same story as blur. Making these changes will increase rendering time, but turning the fitler to none will reduce rendering times. Turning it off will make the texture look a little grainy/noisy, since max is no longer trying to blend the pixels of the bitmap together for the render, it's just picking a pixel and going with it. But this is just fine for textures that are naturally noisy anyway. Like I said before, it's looking great. I'm looking forward to seeing what Girafe does to it.

2 pointszahrul3: Ok, I Am Planning On Increasing The Hieght Of The Floors Today, Just Havent't Gotten To It Yet, And As For The Air Conditioners, I Will Mix And Match A Few Of Them Between Floors. And Will You Tell Me Where The Tiling Is At? Or How To Fix It? Update Coming Later Today.

2 pointsSo I asked Girafe about his lovely trees and he kindly offered to contribute to my UNAM library BAT by adding some of his beautiful creations. So before I hand it to the more capable hands of Girafe I decided to showed it in its current state. Not much has changed mainly the roof textures I change the tone (redder now) added more contrast and added a bump map. I also added a couple of details here and there like the access ramps... So speak now or...
-
2 pointsAside from air conditioners, try looking at NYBT threads for some inspiration of what it should really look. The height of the floors are also quite low, on apartment/office style buildings, a floor should ideally be around 4.5-5m, due to pipes, exhausts, framework, voice insulation and aircon pipes filling out in the spaces between floors. If making good nightlights are a hassle, use transparent windows and use night omnis. Its in the BAT essentials, so you should go there and check it out. It almost guarantees random windows, by using any random image with a fitting color.
-
2 pointsOh and why do you write every new word with capital letters? Doesnt really matters but anyway, looks strange
-
2 pointsI was going to ask about the roof because it seemed liked the textures didn't render properly, but then I read your comments about a draft render so nevermind.. Though, I'll say this about the large grey box: even with textures, I think it could be improved. What exactly is it's purpose? Will it have a door inside it to provide access to the roof, is that the purpose? Whatever it is for, it might need some more attention to detail. I know you aren't finished just yet, but I thought I'd point that out. Also, the windows look textured, if they aren't, then you should try to emphasize the 3D geometry a little more so that they don't look so flat. If they are just textures, though, then I would model them out; the result is much more rewarding, especially to the creator himself! This all said, you are definitely improving. Keep it up.
-
2 pointsI would also enjoy a Bojangles' highway sign too (I know they don't exist, but i would love one). With a Bojangles and a Bojangles Highway sign, I could have a perfect city. I wish i was a got BATer because I am horrible at it . If I was a good BATer like you guys, I would make a Bojangles, Bojangles highway sign and tons of other restaurants and gas stations!
-
2 pointszahrul3- Your right, and I live in North Carolina. Have you seen my Bojangles, I could just give you my model. And please do not rush we all are willing to help out and plus Sim City needs Bojangles and It need to look good and also the lot. Pic.1 Pic.2 Pic.3

2 pointsThis looks very good, the red color fits very well with the game palette, I'm comparing it with the red brick texture on the lot in the left upper corner. If I must point out something to improve that would be to maybe match the texture on that little street leading down to the garage to the texture you use on the lot, however that is not at all necessary. It really is a beauty you got there.
-
2 pointsWhat a beautiful tree! I believe I've seen those trees here in Hawaii too. harishna, how did you make those red lights on top of the building? Thanks.
-
2 pointsWhat an interesting tree the jacaranda, I didn't know about its pink flowers. It gave me the taste for trying something Around 10 meter high
-
2 pointsDISCLAIMER: I am not a serious batter or an artist or anything... To me, pretty much every roof texture being posted, even the ones that are supposed to be good, are either way too "noisy" when rendered, or scaled down so much they tile. Gradients and stuff are only half of it. Why not a smoother less detailed roof texture as a base, with some larger water streaks and and a few discolored shingles drawn over it? Also sometimes roof textures are just inappropriate no matter how much they get touched up because they are a different sort of roof. Slate and cedar looks way different than composite shingles(rubbery material with gray sand on it).
-
2 pointsharishna, nice progress, and the farm houses are going great, i'm almost finished with the windowframes, then I will post an update in my B.A.T. Thread.
