Uber Region Update

Uber Region Update Oh look at that... I mixed up the name... duh... that is because it is named "Greater Auckland" in the region folder, but my CJ is named "Auckland & Greater Region II"... Oh well you know what I mean I guess! The current tile being developed for Schulmauckland is Port Felix. Schulmauckland (my CJ in the forum)is located in the upper north west corner of Auckland & Greater Region, which comprises of 9 main large tiles. The main area that I have been working on, in this CJ, ...

Playing in the Sandbox I think I am becoming overly attached to my sandbox tile... Who says Maxis sucks? I also finally got around to getting the MTP water towers, and Paeng's junk yard. The concrete ford works well with the logging roads.

Abcvs Hmmm... methinks I am intrigued! The region of Schulmauckland is located in the upper North Western corner of Auckland and Greater Region... presently it consists of nine large tiles. There is potential for expansion... after all... this region has a total area of 198 tiles. As can be seen development is in the early stages... surprisingly enough in Lower Right. Apparently the naming committee was in a bit of a rush so they kinda went with geographical location type names.... ...

MTP - Landing Strip (Improved) Well I have made some improvements to the MTP Landing Strip and the good news is that I have reduced the dependencies to only two. New features include: Improved runway lighting. Added radar turning dish. Added flashing light to top of control tower. Added more flora. Added a security check point with guards that come on and off shift during the day and night. Different cars will park during the day and night. Improved the flow of the taxiways, reduced clutter, and added...

Upper Tahoe Lake Resort Back on page 38 of my other esteemed pixelated production of pegamanical pride and prowess... I made a hydro lake... the Upper Tahoe. It is a very nice hydro lake with two hydro dams. I have not been up in that corner for a bit, but this evening I was compelled to go back... While I was minding my own business detailing yet another stream in the other corner of the Clevedon Bay tile, the city planner guy bounced onto my screen with wink wink, nudge nudge, gay abandon, to...

A sincere thank you to all the people that nominated me for a CJ trixie. Two wins, one runner up and 4 nominations overall. This is the first time I have ever won a CJ trixie and I am very pleased and humbled, however it would not have been possible unless people actually come and visit, read and more importantly like what they see. I would also like to acknowledge my good friend Pegasus, whose excellent content forms the mainstay of this CJ. The following trixie would not have been possible without...

Aspen Ski Resort

Aspen Ski Resort Ski resort or not... the game engine demands that people in those nice lodges go to work... Aspen does not have buses, and very little car traffic... however it does have a secret... The subway system basically allows me to string out a population of around 2000... from one side of a large tile to the other. Yup, those pines do take quite a while to plant, even using clusters. Pine Trails ... Sans Pines Well the PEG Pine trails are lovely of course... but sometimes the pines that line the trails tend to hide the scene... fine if you are at ground level, inhaling all that wonderful pine scent.. but not so good if you want to see what is going on from above. So I decided to whip up some 'Sans Pine' Pine trails... in LE. Of course if you take all the pines out it looks a little bare... So let's compromise... mix and match, the originals with the sans pine trails.. we get the...

Causeway Island

Causeway Island Right... moving along then... Preamble construction pictures .... There is a PPond Island Contest over at Simpeg to see who can make the best 16x16 island surrounded by PPond water... I recommend a look.. there are lots of great ideas by different people. I put four road tiles exactly 16 x 16 tiles apart and then dotted 1/4 Tahoe around it to sketch out the shape of the island. I used a ground lifter lot in the middle to raise the terrain and then used the mayor levelling and hill tools...

MTP - Narrow Pine Trails I have made some new, narrower pine trail pieces... in LE... along with a bonus ranger station, camp office. They are still pretty alpha... Narrow trails work well and look good with the sway bridge. Wide to narrow transition.

Snow Business

Well there is no business like snow business, so on with the snow...! I have never used a snow mod before... but I am very impressed with the effect. The PEG Snow mod is currently being re-worked over at Simpeg... and hopefully a new Snow Super Pack will be ready for December! Causeway Island... the mountain spring has iced up. Close up of the terrain detailing... the 'summer' flora is turned off. Wow... those pine forests look great from a distance on zoom 1. This was a nice surprise... my custom...

Grain and Sunflowers

Grain and Sunflowers Paeng has been working on a little project and I have been well moonlighting as one of his Alpha testers... sorry Paeng... I meant to sign the non disclosure agreement you sent me... really I did... These are a 'park' version of H88's growable grain and sunflower fields. Grain Sunflowers This is an interesting image... Growable sunflowers at the top, the alpha version is in the middle and the lastest beta version is at the bottom. Left to right... beta, alpha and the original...

Fire Circle Island

The mid winter annual Brass Butts Weekend is a popular event. Despite chilly temperatures the die hard faithful gather to cook sausages, toast mashmallows and drink hot chocolate, around the fire circle. Some of the more prissy attendees do motor back in the little steam launch at the end of the night to the cosy confines of their A-Frame cabins on the other side of the lake... but the true devotees snuggle up in their goose down sleeping bags, in the true winter camping experience. ...especially...

Halleujah!

Halleujah! I have slowly been achieving higher levels of saintification! Pegasus has been developing a new church reward pack... to replace the generic what the heck is that religion supposed to be Maxis House of Worship ones. These are my nicest pics from my latest round of beta testing over at Simpeg. Starting at the bottom of the hill is the Holy Roller Chapel, then the Holier Roller Chapel and finally the Holy Mountain Church. The fourth church in the reward series is the OMG Evangelical Church. The...
