The Northwest of Madison Plains

Replies:

Vigilante1987: Thank you! Even though it's a smaller scale you are right.

PaPa-J: What I showed in the entry took about ten or so hours, or three days work! Thanks for that though, but this is only the beginning, wait until you see the "Projects" area of East Side which I've almost completed.

mrsmartman: Thanks for that. Thankfully a lot of buildings on the STEX and LEX are from New York so I've got alot to work with! Although, speaking of diagonal streets, some diagonal brownstones would be nice!

metarvo: Cheers! The harbour in Lower Manhattan is about the best I could up with the buildings and fillers at my disposal. While gridbusting these days has become easier due to both more diagonal and FA buildings plus additional texture fillers.

mattb325: Thanks! A large part of the fun is mixing and matching the new and old. As for the sea walls, I never really thought about that until several days ago, however when I realised some of them could be plopped on both land/water and water something clicked, plus I didn't want the slope to be fully covered with a retaining wall. In future I'll explore further the uses of nbvc's walls to "extend" the pavement of roads next to slopes.

Entry 53: The Northwest of Madison Plains

For today I show you another part of Madison Plains which has plenty of green suburbs and the odd bit of gridbusting. This Tuesday I'll be posting another update from my New York recreation, the Big Mango, and this includes East Side and the Projects!

For now though here are scenes from a much smaller area!

I used Ilive's Reader to remove the textures from Deadwoods oil lots. This meant I could place MMPs on the lots to create a different textural feel!

I can never get enough of C.P.'s houses!

At the top is Mattb325's FA Urban High School (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3770), a brilliant building and a fantastic piece of gridbusting!

Of course Mattb325's Urban High School doesn't come with all these fillers and trees! They have to be plopped in and around the building!

I used KingOfSimCity's car parks to create the large car parks often found in USA colleges and high schools.

Very nice work as usual.  Your housing looks fairly densely packed, but it's broken up well by the fields and schoolyards.

I always love the scenes that you show us! Very creative, excellent grid-busting and above all, cohesive.*:thumb:

Good to see your still putting out well made content, that's suburban development at it's finest.

Excellent work!
I plan to make 120 houses (40 $, 40 $$, 40 $$$ + 3 color variations + 2 angles) but I still don't know which style is better *:D American houses, new york houses or european houses

I would suggest New York houses, presumably W2W, but then that's just me being greedy since I could always have more buildings to work with in my New York recreation!
