You've shown an interesting form o terraforming (form of terraforming, gosh, listen how it sounds). I mean this one with roads and intersections. I'm sure I'm gonna try it.

The waterfall looks quite nice, it made look the submarine pond more realistic (well that water have to come from somewhere).

Thank you for such compliments on my work too 43.gif

What can I say? I am honored. Just coming here and being able to see such talent at work is enough... and now this... I have so many people to thank... (actually just one). But seriously, thanks for the honor of being associated with a cj like this. You have made a very well done waterfall (9.07) and the people on the observatory deck prove it. I'm currently using SG's canal but I think I may have to consider using these too. The paths leading up to the platform are well done (especially with the bridge). As far as puns go (9.13) they just add to the enjoyment. Can't wait to see an overrview of Tolfalas as a whole.

I really think the waterfall enhances the whole area. The paths and fences add much to the NUMA building and its surroundings......

Hello John!

Glad to hear it's a civic / experimental base an not a military Superlinear High-frequency Interference Testdevice...

there are too much people trying to push the world into wars noone can win today ...

Nice lake with waterfalls. And I guess for the next rural community in Urland I have to fire up the LE rather often since I really like what you have made with those fenced trails!

Good combination of the view point and the waterfall - just imagine what world had lost if this would be a closed secret military base!!!

Have a great weekend my friend!

Bernhard 44.gif

edit: nice new avatar - moving from gromit to the world of Hergé ... 9.gif

Looks wonderful, Darmok. The building looks a little weird there, but that's to be expected. Knowing NUMA, I would've expected a floating base out there. 3.gif

Oui Darmok, le francais m'est assez familier. Sauf qu'avec un clavier anglais, ca donne suffisament d'erreurs orthografiques!

Excellent post! At the risk of sounding a bit negative, I like the "one-tile" waterfall, but if I was the one working on this, it would have been a "two-tile" waterfall. PEG's Deluxe Pond Kit really improved things a lot, and multiple tile waterfalls was one of it's better improvements. My own preference, that's all. However, your level of success and experience dictates that whatever you do in your CJ can never be the wrong thing!

Looking forward to more great things. Oh, and by the way, how far along are you in Anduin Valley, like percentage wise. 75+%???

Great waterfall. Great to see how you ponder over the use of the fences. Most of us would just say "Nah, what the heck"but you realy take care in good placement of the fences.

Great that huge research facility, the stream is so nice. I agree with Mayormommy to add some housings (or a campsite) for the workers and scientists.

Another comment that I have is to plop some more trees next to the road so the dirt road is gone. It looks silly to have a dirt road between the facility and the harbour and between the facility and the border.

mmmmm, that Tanker is still making life for the Fed-ex people misserable.

Take care. Nik-Nik

    wouanagaine - Genesus

Hi wouanagaine, the trails are Gated Community Toolkit By RJM Designs by dhoppeii

Well not as loud as Niagara! They're a bit smaller! WINK

    Take care

VesterDK - VDK Production (Trams and Waterbus project)

Hey Vester, thanks! Good to see you!

    Enjoy the week!

Mayormommy - Nightmare Islands: Life on all levels

    Hi mayormommy, thanks!

Yep there will be a small residential area in the next sector, it'll be to the island scale, quite small, and only to house the resident researchers and lab assistants, the visiting scientists all reside at the Point Of Entry Hotel.

    Always good to see you!

    Take care

    Sloppet

Hey sloppet! wow a double sly! I must have done something good!

    Take care my friend!

    ThomasAH - Zorturia

Yeah! I just forgot to update my Excel sheet with your new link! Sorry!

    BTW Great work in Zorturia!

    Thanks for your kind words!

    See you!

Szarkoz - The Free Democratic Nation of Caledonia

As far as terraforming is concerned, you can use almost anything to achieve your goals. just don't let ANYTHING preventing you from trying any tools. Just remember the golden rule - SAVE BEFORE TRYING A NEW THING - and let it go! Sometimes the results are unexpected, but once in a while you'll find a new technique that works well for you!

And your CJ's is great looking, so, no surprise there... You've put a lot of care in it and it shows!

    Enjoy your week!

    Bat

Hey Bat, thanks for the welcoming to page 89!

and I hope you'll like the rest of the upcoming updates in Tolfalas!

    Eggie99 - Sodom city

Hi Eggie! Thanks for the compliment! BLUSH

Mightygoose - Vil-valad, a city and its roots

Hi mightygoose, a new region pic is ready, and will be posted as soon as Tolfalas is finished, there's 3 or 4 updates left!

    Take care

    Tracker - Graph X Services

Now I'm zen! I like that it's a great compliment! Always liked the bhudists and the Dalai-Lama! (no, no, I'm not a bhudist WINK )

    Take care

    Threestooges

Hi threestooges, by the way wich one was your favorite? Larry Moe or Curly...

For the passport, don't mention it, it's only a small gesture in recognition of the support that all the regular readers are giving to Anduin Valley.

What you cut your acceptance speech! Hey you should teach at the academy awards! WINK

I think both SimGoober's and PEG's lots have their utility, PEG's being more rural were better suited for this particular setup. But these days I'm using SG's irrigation canals in Anôrien, and wondering why I didn't use them before! they're just great!

Hehehe...glad to see that bad jokes are not turning you off! I just can't help it, when I see some phrases it just comes out! Sometimes it's not so bad, sometimes....mehhh! Hey win some loose some!

I didn't to say it before, but, when Tolfalas updates will be finished, not only will I post a new region shot, but I'll also post a complete picture of the Tolfalas island taken at zoom 4 (I think it's 4, or was it three...humm..) anyway you'll see every detail on it!!

Thanks for your always good comments threestooges, and see you soon!

    Take care

    Cjah - Callisto

Altough I do like Zen philosophy, (not all of it), it wasn't my drive behind AVR, but the again I guess that what we like is transposed sooner or later in our cities I guess!

The waterfall idea came after the submarine base, I was looking at it and thought that it would be good to have a feeding stream.

    Glad you appreciate it!

    Take care

    MS (magpieshooter) - Kinata Region

Yep I agree about that, I'm even thinking of going back to Minas Tirith and see what I could improve....hummmm...maybe later!

    Thanks for you visit mate!

    Take care!

Bernhard (Nardo) - Urland a (mostly) rural coastline

    Hi Bernhard,

Nope no military conquest for AV, we're a rather peaceful country! Though we are at war with the mosquitoes in the summer! And we don't develop Silent Hyper Interceptor Trackers, it's too messy! And I agree wholeheartedly about your statement on wars, they maybe glamourous on the big screen, but in real life, nobody wins and everyone loses! Especially ordinary people, not the bigwigs who think they're so smart! Well... enuf said!

As for the fences, I may have something for you in a short while! I'll PM you on this!

Thanks for the good wishes, I had a great, but VERY busy weekend, (not much time for playing the game) we had to redo a major part of our front lawn, (hey! REAL terraforming for a change LOL) because of the field mices who (again!) ate part of it this last winter! So we've taken off all the lawn and replaced it with soil and planted wild flowers. My back is kindly reminding me that I'm not 20 anymore! WINK

    Alright alright I'm finished now.

So enjoy your week my friend!

    Machs Gut!

    S_A_ (Shadow_Assassin) - The Savannah Way

    Hi SA!

Well I've looked for a turquoise looking building but that was the closest I could find! And you know very well that Admiral Sanddecker being a very good fundraiser, that money's no object!

Always good to see you mate!

    Take care

    Going2Chicago

Well, don't be! As I've said to threestooges, I know it's not much, but I think it's important to show some consideration to those who support AVR regularly!

Don't worry about my kes! Even my wife sometimes don't understand them! ROTFL

If I can in any way give you some ideas for your cities and inspire you, it really touches me. I've recieved so much from the people here, that it's good to know that I can also contribute in a small way!

    Take care!

    GMT - Greater Columbia River

    Hi GMT, thanks man!

    Bombastix - Tisk Tisk

Exactly, the whole Tolfalas island is a scientific complex of sorts!

    Thanks for your visit!

    Rhéal - rw0381c

Salut Rhéal! tu devrais me voir au travail sur mon G5 avec OSX en anglais et mon clavier français! le festival du backspace! LOL

Translation - You should see me at work on my Macintosh with OSX in english and my french keyboard! It's the Backspace key festival sometimes!!

So I do symphatize with you on that point!

And the Wildcats won the first two games (YIKES)... well let's hope we'll come back in the next one!

About the waterfalls, I do prefer the look of the multi tiles waterfalls, but for that particular setup I wanted a small waterfall, and please don't EVER refrain of making a personal suggestion or statement here! I really don't believe that anyone detain the whole truth (la science infuse! WINK ). So please do state your opinions, I remember having changed some setups following remarks from Nik-nik, S_A, Dan (Dhoppeii) just to name a few.

About your last question, I'd say that the original map is about 65 or 70% completed.

Though I'm thinking, that perhaps I could extend it for some projects, not sure about that yet... cause I've downloaded a map recently that I really like, so.... jury's still out on that one!

    So have a great week

    Take care!

    Nik-nik

    Hi Nik-Nik

Fortunately we now have a good choices of slope conforming fences, which was not always the case, I have to thank BuddyBud for those!

The (small) residential area will be comming in the next update, that is the one after this one. As for the tanker, well I guess both captains must be buddies by now! LOL.

Your comment about plopping trees along the road made me smile, cause I did plop some at the beginning, BUT! (there's always a but somewhere) I wanted a "still in construction" look (another weird idea), that's the reason why I blasted those trees.

Good to see you still scrutinize the pics and offer suggestions...keep it that way I like it!

Take care my friend, and have a good week!

    And now folks here's...

    It's a very small sector.

And after that, We'll be traveling to Bruinen Fjord,

Each and everyone of your comments are appreciated, as Jason (Aldara) would say "Keep 'em comming"

    and I'll see you Friday!

I would probably have to choose Curly (or maybe Shemp but I think Curly had the better part), although Moe has a way of getting things done his way. I think those two communication systems IMO were just the things needed to make that sector look full/complete. SG's irrigation canals are good too. The only thing I haven't seen in that group is a waterfall (aside from the single tile version).  Anyway, looking forward to that region shot, and perhaps toward the end of Summer I may just have the time to get that cj of mine off the ground.

    -And congratulations too to Goin2Chicago

    Salut John.

Beautiful setting for the NUMA building. The waterfall, the trails and the scenic view are great additions, they bring that rather clean research facility to life. The communication sector once again proves your great attention to details. And the mosaics are aaawe-sommme! Great update my friend.

'Bout books: Unfortunately, I don't have too much time to read in between my college courses. There's so much literature I have to read for school that I'm not capable of reading other stuff (I actually prefer to watch a good film then instead, helps me relax). But in my holidays I read a lot. Although I haven't read the 'Da Vinci Code' yet, I think I'd like it from what I've heard. I like social critic books and classics in general (e.g. 'To Kill a Mockingbird').

Anyways, I'm looking forward to your next update. Take care.

    - Phil
