I still like what is coming out of Anduin Valley. Very nice usage of custom content. Don't you like the Jeronij antennas? Me too.

Hey Darmok! Love the update, and the reference to Moulinsart and Professeur Tournesol seem so coincidental; I've been reading my Tintin BDs to my step son for the past few weeks!

Once again, keep up the great work!

Thank you for passport, Darmok 48.gif Are there any cheap airlines' flights to AVR? I'd love to move there. 9.gif

Ok, so let's move to today's update. I like comments in pictures, they're hilarious. I see you've changed street textures, it's a good choice! They've got great looking. I think they're much better than previous ones. MAMA also looks good and I love its name. 2.gif

I'm looking forward to next updates, and again, thanks for making me a citizen of AVR 48.gif

Nice update!  Those are some very cool custom buildings in this one, and the overall effect looks great, especially that fire hall!  Great attention to detail as always.

It's funny how the small areas can be the biggest headache.  I've run into that once or twice myself, and I think it's probably the lack of options that causes the problems as much as anything.

More true words were never spoken about creating a cj. (They may have been mentioned in a similar way but still...)  That power plant is perfect for those who want their steaks "blackened" but I don't know... too much atomic element 6 for my taste (I'll leave the rest of the wit to Shadow Assassin...he's better at it). It is a really incredible thing that gets really incredible support, you are holding true to the advice you gave me earlier. Keep it coming, it only gets better.

Salut John!
OMG! I'm so honoured! I'm a citizen of Anduin Valley, MERCI BEAUCOUP MON AMI!
Well! It's not a bad day after all!

@Sloppet - Thanks man! Oh Btw! It's not halloween yet, you should remove your Darmok costume.

Your two last updates are stunning!  I just LOVE your airbase. The addition of the parking and fire station is brillant!

I knew it! I should choose Lab Assistants instead of Graphic Designer. Now that's a place to live!
You choose the perfect spot for the antenna. Nicely done!

Your BATs selection is perfects, as always!

Keep up this awsome work my friend!
and thanks again for the passport.

Nice update(s) my friend!

two incineration plants ... there must be a lot of garbage and Special High Intensity Training facilites (thanks Shadowassasin for this one!) around .... 9.gif

that airport looks nice - does it works as an airport or is it just eyecandy (and of course where may I find it?2.gif)

Cryogenic facility next to firestation .... hope they have a good insulation! it is not such a nice idea if the water becomes ice in the hose ... 47.gif

Take care my friend!

I love you you use SG's Milwaukee Club. I've only used it in a more urban setting, but it looks GREAT the way you have it! I'll have to broaden my horizons, because it's such a great BAT. Good work!

Hey John.

How are you? I must apologize for once again not having posted for so long. I better visit more often before it's becoming notorious.

The postcards: What a great way to present a mosaic. It perfectly catches the beauty of that landscape. It always amazes me how a couple of small details make the difference. The region view looks awesome. It's a great summary of your previous work (and it's still loading 2.gif).

Tolfalas 1: I'm always curious how you start a new piece of land. I like the way the road's climbing uphill. Also great use of the jeronij Seawalls, they're perfect for this setting (IMO, these ones are harder to use than the marrast Embankment, which fits almost everywhere).

Tolfalas 2: I love the control tower set-up. The parking lots and scenic views are very nice details. Also jeronij's control tower looks amazing there. I also like the terminal a lot. Interesting combination of military/seaport kind of lots and recreation lots.

Tolfalas 3: The hotel area is nicely laid out. I like the contrast to the scietific facilities. The Anôrien preview: Wow, beautiful farms there.

Tolfalas 4: I like the airbase a lot. The set-up again looks very detailed and realistic. Great use of BATs for the scientific buildings.

Tolfalas 5: More of these great science BATs. Fantastic layout. I particularly like the residential area. It's again the combination of living in the nature and working in some more or less secret facilities that makes the island especially adorable.

These were five (!) great updates and I'm looking forward to your next one. Have a great weekend my friend.

- Phil

    S_A_ (Shadow_Assassin) - The Savannah Way

    HI SA

Yep, Hergé was Tintin's creator. As for teflon it would indeed be a good thing to have teflon coated paint. They tried with tires and it was not asuccess though!  2.gif

Special High Intensity Training can be found practically everywhere, dont let it hit the blades though! 28.gif

As for the minivan, Tournesoll was often given a lift by the "Boucherie Sanzot" mini-van. So it does fit...  2.gif

    Take care my friend.

    wouanagaine - Genesus

    Hey wouanagaine,

I grew up reading "Les aventures de Tintin", so I'm glad that I could insert a small allusion to Hergé's world in AVR.

    Thanks!

    Sloppet

    Hey sloppet!

Don't be so harsh on polish persons, I know one who has a special sense of humor, and.... hey wait that's you!  22.gif  2.gif

hehehe... always good to read you sloppet!

    Take care!

    Dubya - Indica Hills

    Hi Dubya,

    Welcome to Anduin Valley!

And thanks for taking the time to have your say!

    Take care

    MS (magpieshooter) - Kinata Region

    Hey MS!

Indeed, long live the dozer! I'm kind of addicted!

As for perfection.... I hope I'll never attain it! Ususally when you do, they give you a nice room with padded walls! 2.gif

And anyway once you are, what's left to do!!! Naaahhh, better of with our flaws, at least then we have some excuses when we goof!

    Thanks mate, take care!

    Tracker - GraphX Services

    Hey tracker,

Thanks! And as for the variety of BATS, we have all the great batters and lot makers in Simtrop to thank for! We must not forget that without them this game wouldn't be as entairtaining as it is!

    Take care!

    ThomasAH - Valentinovsk&Liberty by eggie99 & ThomasAH

    Hey Thomas

Thanks for the welcoming to page 86!

    See you!

    rw0381c

    Hey RW!

I have the whole collection, and do read it from time to time, it's like a time machine!

    Glad you appreciated it!

    Take care

    Bat

    Hi Bat,

Thanks, and as for your citizenship you're welcome!

    Take care!

    Szarkoz

I'm sure you'll find very good bargains at any major airlines counters around the world!

The street texture is Peg's dirt road texture, I've used it only in Tolfalas as it is an island. for the rest of Anduin Valley I stick with the Tar road texture.

The passport you earned by your ineterest in AVR!

    Thanks for your support szarkoz!

    Take care

Battlecat - Terra - An evolving region

Yep, that's about it, I really thought it would be a piece of cake, and I was surprised to see that you have to invent new purpose to existing buildings to transform them into scientific ones!

    Take care!

    Threestooges

    Hey threestooges,

Those words are only an extrapolation of what I've learned by reading Jeroni'S Sculpting Columbia River, and other great CJ's, and I think that most of the succesful CJ's abide by them.

Thanks for those very kind comments man, they really are appreciated.

    Take care!

    Pinchman

    Salut Pinchman,

Well, you earned that citizenship, and it's only a small gesture to thanks those who take the time to stop by and say hello from time to time!

Thanks for your regular visits and insights!

    A la prochaine, voisin!

    Take care!

VesterDK - VDK Production (Trams and Waterbus project)

Hi Vester, the building near the firestation is : Nexis Packing Industries - by Mrbisonm

And MAMA is in fact NDEX Riverside College - by Equinox

Just a simple matter of giving them another purpose, and they can be almost anything we want!

    Take care!

Bernhard (Nardo) - Urland a (mostly) rural coastline

There's always a lot of Special High Intensity Training everywhere! That's one thing that the world will never run out! WINK And you can always count on SA to find some great acronyms!

The airbase CdS Seaplane Base by ripptide

as far as I know is fully functionnal as long as you have all the dependencies.

And the cryogenics facility, is providing all the dried ice the firestation needs to fill their extinguishers!

    Enjoy the week my friend!

    Fabiocb - RASEC

Hi Fabio, thanks, and as for the dirt trails, in a short time I may come with an addition to them.

    Take care!

    jglei701

I was looking for a special looking "Résidence de fonction" for the director of the MAMA, and saw the Milwaukee Club, I knew it was what I wanted.

    Thanks!

    Phil (PhilsCafe) - Acorn Creek

Bonjour Phil, ça vas très bien! et toi-même comment vas-tu?

No apologies necessary my friend, I also have bouts of RLS that keep me away from time to time. "C'est la vie!"

AT first I had certain problems with the seawalls, but in the end they're not so hard to use, we just have to be patient!  2.gif

I'm having a lot of fun working in Anôrien, going slowly, (this time everytime I want something special I open up the LE and do some VooDoo!) but this take a LOT (pun intended) of time!

But I do like the results! So it's possible that when arriving at presenting Anôrien the update pace will perhaps slow down a bit, it'll all depend if I have a lots of pics already prepared.

De ton côté penses-tu reprendre les mises-à-jour d'Acorn Creek?

Translation - Do you think you'll be updating your own CJ, or is it on a prolonged hiatus?

Always good reading your comments my friend, BTW I really like the new avatar!

    Enjoy the week!

What can I say more than I didn't say so far about your support????  46.gif

I must be getting monotonous for you to read those thank you notes, but what can I say, you ARE fantastic!

And once again, I am indeed thanking you all for your kind and overwhelming support!

So here you go, I'll continue to bore you to death with gratitude! 18.gif

    In the meantime

Take care and enjoy life 10.gif

Anyway, while I'm waiting to find a nice house in Aunduin Valley, I guess that I will have to further commend you on another brilliant update.

Now I know what you are thinking...

The answer is, well.... your brilliant work. One of my top two favourite CJs ever, just keeps getting better.

Long time, no visit for me here in AV. I see a few little stylistic changes in the presentation. I shall have to try to catch up a few pages back. Those small industrial buildings look just perfect, but then you do have the knack for putting small buildings exactly where they fit.

Nice job, Darmok. I like how you mix I-D, I-M, and I-HT into one package. I also like the Arboriculis campground. They work with trees (arbor), so it is appropriate.

    Hi Darmok!

Well... what can I say... It's a really forested area there. I like variety of them. I think it's good to try make city unmonotous in every, small aspect of it.  For example, when I build city I mostly use maxis trees, but yesterday I wanted to experiment and made a nice park using jeronij and DT trees. I was really happy with the effect I got.

Wait a minute, I'm commenting AVR here, not my work 2.gif Nice to see you're zoning some industry there, I think you could zone even some more. I like camping ground. It'd be nice to live near trees 1.gif Overally, Tolfalas is a great work so far.

I'm looking forward to next updates as always 48.gif

Nice industrial area! I do like you power supply - both with the ingame as well as with the cutom poles (that shows again(!) the need for grey poles)

Nice idea with this tent village!

Have a nice week my friend!

Yes, I must agree with Bernhard. The power stuff is very neat. I like the little substation. Cool stuff.

The whole industrial area is very tidy. Lots of trees etc to offset the polution.

And the tent village. Wow! Where did you find those tents? Exactly what I was looking for a while back (but didn't find).

An all-around super update Darmok. It's good to see this cj getting the attention it deserves. I predict a well deserved trixie or two in its future!

Brilliant attention to detail (power substation for ULBT) and amazing creative thinking (campground for the 'tree people') very creative use of peg's campgrounds. You seem to add things that one wouldn't necessarily think of immediately, but after seeing it, it would seem strange to not have it there. I would expect to see more industrial development for such a fancy research/science area but then again, maybe they like it that way... it certainly looks good to me. I like it, I like it a lot.
