the thing i find funny and extremely wrong about the whole Tony Romo contract extension thing is that Jamarcus Russel, #1 pick, got the same money as him. the kid who has never throw an nfl snap, got that much money. The money that high first round picks get these days is ludacris. No one deserves that kind of money till they prove themselves, which often high first rounders dont; look at some of the lions first round picks in recent years.

on another note, the cowboys will pwn the eagles on sunday

Patriots: Tampax Pearl...hahaha...

You also didn't mention Tedy Bruschi, who took a pay cut so he could stay with the team he loves, worked his way back to playing shape after a STROKE...holy jeez...

I don't understand people's gripes with them. They made HUGE moves for free agents in the off season despite being an awesome team already, and they all rock. Compare that to a team like...the Vikings that made NO moves for free agents despite massive gaps, and somehow they're horrible again. There's no such thing as buying a team in the NFL (unlike baseball) because of the strict salary cap.

The Patriots are simply playing football. Mike Ditka said that on NFL Primetime last night when he was asked if he thinks the Pats were running up the score. He said they were playing football...and they're doing it a hell of a lot better than anyone else right now. They'll keep doing it until someone steps up and takes them down. Until then, good luck to any team that gets in their way, because they're going to have their bells rung like an alarm clock. (the last part was editorializing by me...but you get the gist)

football-yes. I was reading this bull***** on ESPN where all the user comments were like "COLTS ROX!!!!!! pwn belicheat and his classless ways!!!"

im sorry, so the patriots all of the sudden are classless for being so good?

im pretty sure the colts have been averaging 500 points a game for 5 years, and never sit manning (unless tampax pearl needs to talk to him about commericials). I guess they are classless.

Texas rangers? THEY SCORED 33 points! CLASSLESS.

49ers scoring 55 in a super bowl? CLASSLESS.

LSU putting up 49 on Va. Tech? CLASSLESS.

etc.etc.etc.

god this week has like no clear cut easy picks...even the surefire colts and patriots cant be chalked up for wins

Falcons over 49ers

Bengals over Bills

Packers over cheifs- idk, packers match up poorly with cheifs, wouldnt be suprised to see the cheifs win

Broncos over Lions- bly and bailey trump a good passing attack

Saints over Jaguars- is marcus stroud playing on sunday?

Chargers over Vikings

Redskins over Jets

Buccanears over Cardinals

Titans over Panthers- how in gods name do the titans keep winning...such ugly, hard fought wins too

seahawks over browns- stop winning browns! I want your drft pick to be high for the cowboys!

Patriots over Colts- god awlmightay...hard pick-duh- but i think the Patriots are the better team this year.

Raiders over Texans- no matt schaub= bad day

Cowboys over Eagles

Steelers over Ravens

seriously the parity of this weeks games is ludacris

less than 48 hours till the greatest regular season game ever!

lets break this down bit by bit, ESPN Style 3.gif

Quarterbacks-

Both are top notch, manning being the staty guy, Brady being the winner, but i think this year Brady has improved, while Manning has lost a step or two (still having a great year though).

Edge-Slighty, to the pats.

Running Backs

When healthy, the pats have the edge, because they have an explosive back in faulk, truck in morris, and a balanced back in maroney. Unfortuantly, morris is out, and maroney is slowed down by groin problems, and addai has been spectacular, so

Edge: Colts

Receivers-

Pats have so many weapons this year in Moss, Welker, Stallworth, watson (healthy?), and the addition of Troy brown and chad jackson should only help. Colts have two go-tos in Wayne and Clark, but not as much depth as NE.

Edge: Patriots

Line-

The patriots offense line has allowed somthing like 7 sacks so far. The Colts O-line has played well also, but not as well as the pats.

Edge: Patriots
----------------

D-Line

Patriots have 3 first round pro bowl candidates, and Jarvis Green coming off the bench. For the Colts, they have two monsters in freeney and "That other guy". However, once again, depth wins out

Edge: Patriots

Linebackers-

Colts lost Brackett this offseason, and there best linebacker to injury this season. Patriots have an aging but still excellent group. They have tough leaers in bruschi and seau, and then 3 big playmakers in Mike Vrabel, Adalius Thomas, and Rosie Colvin.

Edge-Pats

DB-

patriots have samuel, a stud, and harrison, a leader, but nothing else. As for the colts, they have bob sanders, who makes a huge impact each game. Im not to sure about this, but ill say

Edge: Colts

Special Teams-

Pats have scored two return touchdowns already. Colts have Vinitarie. Gostkowski has been good but not spectacular. Punters are not an issue in this game. I will say Edge...

Edge-Colts?

Coach-

Call him what you want but nobodies better than the man in the grey hoody. Not even Dungy.

Edge-pats.

So, lets tally up.

Colts-3 points +1 for homefeild advantage.

Pats-6 points

Pats got the edge 6-4

My Prediction?

Patriots 38
Colts 27

Holy moly Chargers return a missed FG for a TD right at half.

Never seen one of those live before.

They're showing that game Live in the UK too. I've never seen one live up until now either. I'm not sure the Vikings needed to do that considering they'd just lost their Quarterback. Maybe they should have let the clock run down.

Vikings have just tied it up, 14-14 now.

HOLY S#$%^%$%^$%

Did you see the Vikings play? Adrian Peterson set a new single game rushing record!!!!!!! Wow...that was one of the best games I've watched in a long long time. The Chargers playing as poorly as they did and the Vikings playing as good as they did, brought them to the same level. Two awesome run defenses, one bad pass defense and one horrible pass defense, and two phenomenal rushing attacks...all I have to say is wow...

My picks for the week:

Titans over Panthers

Lions over Broncos (which I thought might be a gamble and turned into a blowout)

Chargers over Vikings (WRONG!!)

Jags over Saints (Bad call - changed it at the last minute)

Redskins over Jets (I was sweating on that one most of the game)

Falcons over 49ers (toilet bowl?)

Bucs over Cardinals

Packers over Chiefs (close for much of the game too)

Bills over Bengals (another last minute change)

Browns over Seahaks (Braylon Edwards was scary for Michigan too)

Raiders over Texans (Toilet bowl 2)

Cowboys over Eagles

Steelers over Ravens

And finally for Super Bowl 41 1/2

Patriots over Colts

Pats didn't score on their first posession for the first time this year...boo.

Bull***** calls....two colts field goals came off of terrible terrible TERRIBLE pass interference calls that even the announcers thought were bad. O well, we start second half with the ball, if we can get up by a touchdown or two we can force manning to throw which i think would be much better than letting addai run.

Ney, great game. High five...

I didn't think they could do it with all the crappy calls. Delay of game for spiking the ball after a fumble? Seriously? They keep talking about how Belichick isn't happy even after huge victories, and all he focuses on is what they did wrong. This is why. Yes they beat the Colts. Yes it was tough. But they made a lot of mistakes. He wants the team to be perfect. A perfect record isn't perfection to him. There will be a lot to work on this week (or 2).

Anyway...time to watch sunday night football...after OT with Seattle and Cleveland. DAMN I love Sundays...

football_fever-Humble Pie...thats what they call it. Belicheck certainly going to rip them apart for the interceptions, penalties, and poor tackling.

bosnian-actually, it wasnt really a factor. Peytons receivers made all the plays possible, and addai stepped up huge.

WOOHOO!!!! 24-20...it was so weird watching a competitive game..being in the RCA, I thought the pats were done, but then when they held peyton down, i had a tiny bit of hope, and then....RANDY!....and from then on I knew they would win. It was sloppy, and it was ugly, but it feels so good to beat the colts for the first time in 2 years. And yes, I was laughing my head off during peytons press conference. Btw, whats that thing on his forehead? Ty warren put that thing there? 3.gif

o yea and adrian peterson is somthing. Thats his second 200 yard game this year. I always thought he should have gone higher in the draft, but i didnt think he was this good. Lets just hope he doesnt pull a cadillac williams....remember how big he started before he got hurt?

As for the feild goal return, i know that devin hester (bears) did that last year, and i think Nathan Vashar (also bears) did it this year.

win or loss, i think having the bye next week is the best thing possible. the team and the fans are an emotional wreck after a game like that. You saw what happened to BC after the big va. tech game, or even appalachian state losing to some crappy D-II school after beating michigan. I could see the pats losing to a crappy team like buffallo because of a game like today.

as for the chargers...im not sure about them...i think they will make the playoffs but just barely. They got exposed big time today, just when we thought they were coming back. Btw, did anyone notice the terrible announcing on the pats game? They confused freeney and mathis, The colts and the pats, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning (!!) and a bunch of other things.

Bills are actually a lot better than they seem. I've never been a fan, but tTwo weeks in a row everyone in my pool picked them to lose, and two weeks in a row I'll be in first place because of them. Thank you Bills...

That field goal return was like 109 yards, 2 feet, 11 inches...it was soo close to the line, they should give him the 110 yards.

Oh, and nearly everything about that game was nasty. The announcers, the refs, even the halftime show. It's like everyone was on the Colts' $^@# the entire game. I'm so glad the Pats won to shut them up.

The Chicken was a hit but lots of left overs, looks like fried chicken for lunch all week.  44.gif
