Hey everyone!

I'm new to Simtroplis, and amazed I hadn't ever stumbled across it before. When I was in elementry school, my father came home with a copy of SimCity2000. My curiosity got the better of me, and I proceeded in creating a vast number of failed cities. I've been a fan of the series ever since, going back and playing the original in the massive gap between 2000 and 3000. After playing SimCity3000 for a while, I got a little frustrated with it and moved on until SimCity4 came out, which I gobbled up with a ferocity that reminded me of my younger days playing SC2k. Eventually I put it down and it got packed away in boxes and such, stored in the attic when I moved out.

So now I'm living close to home again, and was up in the attic looking for my old video game systems when I stumbled across a big box of computer games, and on top was SimCity4. So for the past two weeks, I've been rediscovering this wonderful game, trying to top my previous record of 400,000 in SC4.

How I ever got to 400,000 before baffles me, since I seem to be absolutely terrible at it these days. 4.gif

Home for me is Atlanta, Georiga, but right now I'm stationed at Maxwell AFB in Alabama. Which can lead folks to probably guess what I do... I'm in the US Air Force, and I'm 21 years old.

I've been browsing this site for two days now, and am compltely overwhelmed with information. So many beautiful cities and lots. Such neat mods! How have I been playing without this site?!

Welcome to Simtropolis danielout! Take some time to browse around and download some of the custom content. It makes playing SC4 a totally new experience! If you don't have Rush Hour, lots of the custom content might not work at all, so I suggest you buy that or Simcity 4 Deluxe... neither of which are very expensive since the gam eis so old now. Anyways, happy simming!

I'm running delux. 4.gif

Though as I search through this custom content, I usually download something I want, then spend 30 minutes trying to find and download all the dependencies.

Is there a large zip file of dependencies that I could download somewhere? I think that would make better use of my time. After all, as much as I like the content, I'd rather spend my time playing than downloading! 4.gif

I did download NAT though, and I love it!

Oh, I couldn't agree more AK. I would have stopped playing along time ago if it weren't for the custom content. Vanilla is just an empty shell compared with the possibilities opened with STs custom content.

Anyway, welcome Danielout! I hope you enjoy it here!

hey, I'm 25, and a CTA II for Duke University in the Experimental Surgery department working in data management for the AIDS / HIV labs. I enjoy a wide variety of games and things to do, sports, tv, music, movies, ladies, etc.

I'm an avid BF2 player, GT4, and other strategy games.

Getting my feet wet in simcity 4, i loved sim city 2000.
