High 5's to all the newbies.... Can a year old lurker call them newbies? 9.gif

Well I got sucked into the forums finally after being a member for almost a year. The last forum I was active on was one called KC's 4x4 Evo. I was a mod there... That's been like 3 years ago or so... man time does fly by.

ANYWHO.... I'm a 39 yr married man, father of 2. I'm a truck driver by trade and BY CHOICE... I could do other things but I love being in control of 80,0000 lbs of metal barreling down the highway @ 70mph ( 46.gif9.gif ) I've been playing SimCity since it's beginning. Started out with SimCity for the Super Nintendo then went on to the PC games. I've got SC2, SimCopter, That one where you could drive through your cities... I think it was Sim Driver... Can't find the disk right now. SC3 and NOW SC4deluxe. I'm not an expert like a lot on here I just like to build cities. I help when I can now or atleast try to help.
My friends call me nuts for putting the time and patience it takes to build cities but hey IT FLOATS MY BOAT O.K.? LOL

SO nice to meet Y'all and see you on the boards.

Thanks! frndofyaweh. We go to Indiana every couple of weeks to buy cigarettes. My husband works in  Merriville (spelling?) Indiana several times a year.  He calls it Idiotana in fun.  He actually prefers working there to Grand Rapids. He says the people are nicer. I wonder what they call us Michiganders.  I  also go to Michigan city shopping, a couple of times a year. Nice little day trip for us.

Hi guys,

I'm 23, from Malaysia. I'm a Telecommunications student and I like to play simulation games like Caeser, Pharoah and Sim City 3000 before started to play Sim City 4 and recently upgraded to Rush Hour. I really think this community is a must see for everyone playing Sim City 4.
Likes to go to the movie. The latest movie in Malaysian cinemas is Narnia which is a kid's movie I must say. Sorry if I offended anyone.
Likes mafia stuffs and watch The Sopranos, The Godfather Trilogy, The Untouchables, Goodfellas, Scarface, Casino etc. Also is a big fan of war movies like Saving Private Ryan, Hart's War, Behing Enemy Lines, Black Hawk Down, Band Of Brothers etc. Currently looking forward to the movie Munich from Steven Spielberg. Yes, I am also a fan of action packed movies.
Sports wise, I support Man United and McLaren Mercedes.

Hello. I've lurked on this site for years, and started posting infrequently a few months ago, but have never properly introduced myself. How rude!

My name is Will and I live in London, England. I'm a journalist and writer. Sim City (the first one) was the first PC game I ever owned, and I still play the original now and then. SC4 is the finest computer game ever made.

My user name comes from the Roman writer Vitruvius, who detailed the ideal location, form and makeup of a city in his Ten Books On Architecture. He was the first urbanist.

Hello! 9.gif

Hi everyone,

19, almost 20, college sophomore, and I live in Boston, Massachusetts - hence, the less-than-creative moniker. I just came across this site a month ago, I'd been looking for a site with mods for SC4...I think I've found the best? Maybe I'll teach myself some new skills (BAT, etc.), using the great tutorials on site, and possibly a CJ?

Oh by the way, my proper name is Rajan. If it really matters. ha

Oih, it seems we have a bunch of teenies running cities from the look of things. Damn, I feel old all of a sudden. I'm 33 and I live in South Africa which is blatantly shunned by Maxis in their games but we still love them. 2.gif

Welcome Yoda! It's really nice to have another member from Africa, there's not a lot of them. I haven't been this south but I know well west Africa. The next time I go there, I hope I'll get time to visit your country and taste some great wines!

Kaji: yes welcome to you too, especially on my BAT thread!

Ive been here at Simtropolis for a while now; however, I just now saw this thread.  Im not sure if I ever wrote in here.  So here I am!

Im 21, from Omaha, NE.  Population within the city limits:  ~404,000, Surrounding Population (including the city limits) ~800,000 and growing strong!

At the moment I am a student at our currect community college (after a quick University experience at Iowa State Univeristy in Architecture).  <My dream is still to become and Architect however, since our local college here doesn't off it, I had to pick the next best thing... Education - hopefully teaching the college level... in possibly Architecture.  Other interests include:  Drawing, Arts (all of them), Geography, and Anceint History.

Hello to everyone, I have been in this site for more than six months (guess), always lurking.

I'm from Cuautitlan Izcalli, a suburb of Mexico City, really boring place that supposedly won a prize in the 70's for being the best planned satelite city (I really think that's only propaganda22.gif). I'm studing Journalism in the UNAM and I hope to be a photographer in the future. I'm 19 years old, love philosophy (existentialism!!!!) and arts, my favourite book is The Stranger by Albert Camus and my favourite movies are Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain, American Beauty, Nada and A very long engagement. I like watching Art Cinema (I don't know if it's called like that...) and everybody who loves Bj

Hi everybody. I've been looking around Simtropolis the last couple of weeks and really got infected by the enthusiasm everybody is showing for SimCity.
I'm 26 years old and live in The Hague in the Netherlands together with my girlfriend. I'm currently working for an aircraft building company in Dordrecht. But 6 months ago I was working for a company which makes Solar Array Panels for Spacecraft.

I've been playing Simcity since the start of the game and almost destroyed my own computer with SC2000. Now I'm playing SimCity 4 and it's a real step up compared to SC3000. I'm currently trying to make my own LOT and BAT files (of known buildings in the Netherlands), but I have to say the standard here is very High! Hope I can add something to this great Simtropolis World!44.gif

Welcome Jaxx and Demolisher! Yes, the only cure for that infection is posting, downloading and chatting on Simtropolis. The funniest therapy around! If SC4 is a step up compared to SC3000, I would even say that playing SC4 with NAM and all the other improvments done by our people is another big step.

BTW, I'm not sure that 3/4 of people here are 26-50. There's a lot of 12-20 too, but I'm in the first category. Simcity is the first game I played on my first computer almost 20 years ago, a nice 00086 XT with 2 360K disk drive and no hard drive... I remember a particular city that reached 3,000,000 people, which was quite rare in that era...

Have a nice time here, bye!

I guess this post will make 1055. That's quite a lot of replies.

The name's Matthew. I live in Edmonton,Alberta. Home of the largest mall or something along those lines. I'm 13 and attend school of course. I'm into skinning and graphic design and a bit of the modding. I also enjoy playing/modding Starcraft. I've owned Sim City 4 for 2 or 3 years now ,but, my interest died when I got addicted to some MMO's... I just refound my love for SC4 and I hope to bring something to Simtropolis 1.gif

Cheers Matt.
