Aran, a friend of mine swears that attack is the most effective means of defence! When a Mormon calls, he takes the role of a Jehovah's witness & vice versa. Oh, and very noisy dogs help, too!!

Well, I guess I'll throw my name in the (very long, WOW) thread.

I'm 26, married with a 4 month old daughter. I am a data development programmer in Topeka, Kansas for an insurance and annuity company.

I've loved the SimCity series since the original, and I'm going to depart from the general concensus of the group and say that allbeit buggy, I think that SC4 is overall more fun than SC2000 if not as great of a generational improvement.

I must also comment that this site has to be the best overall fan site that I have seen for ANY game, period! (Or is that exclamation? 2.gif )

Keep up the great work guys and gals!

I'm seriously considering buying a flourescent orange bathrobe and pretending to be a Hare Krishna if they keep coming around here.

Either that or posting a sign on the door that says, 'Jesus is coming! (Quick, everyone hide the beer cans!)' Perhaps then they'll get the idea that I don't particularly want to be 'saved'.

Incidentally, wearing a Star of David actually works pretty well in warding them off.

Cheers, mate.

Another idea for Jehovah's witnesses is to ask them this: "If your religion states that only some 245,000 Jehovah's witnesses will be accepted into heaven after the end of the world, what do you think you are doing to your odds of being one of the chosen by recruiting all of these new members?"

I've always wanted to ask them if there was a consolation prize for those people who didn't get into heaven, but it seems a little sacriligious.

Or amusing. Depends on my mood. 12.gif

its been stated before in the rules, please no more religious talk.... even if it is bashing, it is better for it to remain in PM but in the open theres too many people that can possibly be hurt by these comments... please keep the religious comments to a extreme minimum..

thank you!

I am 69 years old and play SimCity 4 and various other games (Command & Conquer, Generals, etc, etc). If it were not for gaming I would have nothing to do all day. I was a workaholic and retiring was quick a shock. Now all I do all day is to play games, take the dogs out and sleep. My biggest social event of the year is a trip to the dentist, and that is fading because on the last two visits I had nothing to be done. I am married and have three 'children'. They are well and truly grown up and I have four grandchildren (where did the fourth come from, by the way?). That earned a snip for my son-in-law.
My grandson played Age of Empires and SimCity far better than I did but he is not allowed to play at present because he would not practise his Saxophone exams. He plays in the local Wind Band and Jazz Group. I recently had to listen to the 1812 played by a bunch of school children who had had one practise.
By trade I was a Solicitor (attorney) but I do not give any legal advice to anyone because everyone sues everyone these days. I don't know why they believe it is a good thing to throw away so much money. I do not have a college degree and, indeed, I went to an 'elementary' school where we weren't allowed to take any examinations. I was also a member of another Institute until I resigned from it. I was, once, a private secretary and I can type quicker than it is possible to do so, according to, I believe, the medical profession. My shorthand is not very good, though.
I spend far too much time on the web.
I was born in Manchester, Lancashire, U.K. where it doesn't rain more than other places, but when it does rain the streets remain wet all day.
Best of luck, everyone.

I'm 28, married, have 3 kids, a set of twins(5) and a single(3), 2 cats and a horde of fish.

I live in North Dakota.

Am currently laid-off from a company that builds blades for wind generators. I work there as a manufacturing tech. building webbing for the blades.

I have ALOT of time now to play. I like both console(XBOX) and PC. I am into RPG mainly, but do like action, stealth, strategy, and of sim games. When I got laid-off at the end of Jan., I went out and bought a new computer and a copy of SimCity 4.

I have more time than I know what to do with. Thank God I have my boys to help pass the time during the day. I think I would have gone nuts by now.

Welcome Aronion - Can I suggest that there is another game which might well absorb a lot of that time, and which you should be able to pick up for a bargain now - Sid Meier's SimGolf. It is a great game, although it would have been better if they had stuck with it and made the final patch!

Have a look at
http://www.simgolfer.co.uk/
and
http://pub31.ezboard.com/bsimgolf
for two terrific fan sites about it. (The official site at
http://simgolf.ea.com/
is pretty ordinary, but necessary to get the patches)

Cheers - Simjez

Right now I'm an EMT-Basic going thru Paramedic school. Currently working at a private ambulance company in Cleveland, OH. Looking to get on a Full-time Fire Dept. I'm 21yrs old.

Dang it nightdoc thought I was going to be the first medical posting on here.

Relating to the game Ambulances should come out of the Fire stations. It would force you to put Stations everywhere and be more realistic. And what the he$% is a "clinic" all we have is Doctor's offices and Hospitals we have one free clinic in the whole county here.

Ohh and driving with lights and sirens is a blast.9.gif

Aronion,
Have not had the pleasure of experiencing a winter there since 1982! Don't know if I could handle it after living in the South since then!
By the way, is it above Zero degrees !!!!

8 above right now. 2 or 3 nights ago it was -20. My cadi didn't want to start and I sure didn't want to go out. Actually it has been a mild winter. The only thing I am upset about is there is NO snow. My boys are dieing to go sledding. Everywhere else has snow, and I'm sure willing to send some our way, but we've had very little. Nothing really close to a blizzard.

I'm retired, living outside of Washington, DC. I've never played any Sims before; SimCity4 is my first. As you can imagine, there's quite a learning curve. Glad you all are here to help me sort this out. I knew you had to be out here somewhere.
