Hey I just joined after many months of lurking, I'm 19 years old and I live in Toronto and I'm a student. I play SimCity 4 every now and then, but I've just discovered an interest in BAT-ing, I'll be uploading my first BAT soon.

Hi, I'm Nathaniel.

I'm a sixteen year old living in the USA. I am a junior (11th grade) in high school and I plan to graduate in 2009, followed by attending college.

I got SimCity 4 when it first came out but due to the computer problems it gave me I stopped playing it. I started playing it since Christmas, and now I'm just trying to get re-acquainted with the game. So I guess with all that being said. Hi, members of SimTropolis, let's have fun! 4.gif

Hey guys,

I'm 22 (23 next month!), and I'm a Computer Technician located in Deptford, NJ (about 5 minutes across the river from Philadelphia!). I'm also a volunteer firefighter for the Tacoma Fire Company (http://www.tacomafire.org) and build some websites, the fire company website being one of them. Lately I've been on the quest to see how good SimCity for the Palm is, and while searching for it I came across SimCity4 Deluxe for $20, and unfortunately I couldn't pass it up. I've been spending what time I could playing the game, which hasn't been much lately. I found this place while trying to look for guides on tips for playing, since I always seem to have the same problems in the game and am looking to get passed them!

my name is Brian, 16 years old from Munich, Germany.

I stumbled over this website a few months ago and have been using the STEX quite frequently since then. Now I also would like to join the community so now I want to introduce myself. I've been playing Sim City since 3000 and bought myself SC4 about a year ago. I play SC4 casually, only a few hours a week, so I'm not the best player regarding realism or creativity. However I enjoy the game and I am looking forward to getting new ideas here.....

Hi guys. It's been a while since I played and decided to put SC4/RH back on the computer. I'm having a blast so far.

Anyway, just wanted to re-introduce myself.

On a side note... Ugh, I just looked at some of the regions I uploaded a few years ago. ROFL, they need some help.

Hello all,

I picked up Sim City 4 when it first came out, later I picked up the deluxe edition as I couldn't find my old CD.  Despite having the game for so long I am very much a novice.  I've played the series since Sim City 2000 (was my first game on my first PC) I also have played Sim City on the SNES but that was later on and I enjoyed it as well.  Even with all this SC 4 really threw me for a loop, I'm not sure if it was just added complexity or the regions but it took me a long time to get a city that ran in the black and when I finally did the city itself looked awful and I gave up on the game and moved on.

Recently however as there's been a lull in quality sim games from my perspective I've had this itch to return to SC4. I knew it was a good and fun game I just had to figure out how to play it well.  So I started looking for any sites which still had information not thinking I'd find much, not to mention one that was actually active.  So imagine my surprise when I stumbled across Simtropolis.  I've been reading the tutorial sections and have picked up the necessary files and all that good stuff.  I'm taking in as much as I can before I go back into the world of mayorship and I'm excited.

Currently I'm looking through the search feature for any and all basic city information I can find so I can as much as possible avoid asking repeat questions.  I've read through the Mass Transit guides and that really opened my eyes as to why my systems failed miserably. My next goal is to find good strategies for starting out with  a new city and what type of relationship each city has to the region.  I’m really excited to have found this site and look forward to truly learning how to play SC 4 for the first time.

I'm Jerome, 18, in university in Georgia, US, civil engineering major (maybe a reason why I love SimCity)... I've had SimCity 4 for a long while, and just got Rush Hour last Sunday as a late Christmas present. My laptop computer with 1gb ram can't handle SimCity without death-inducing lag, so I have to wait for the weekends to play on my 300mb desktop... Anyhow, I'm used to creating 100,000+ size cities with only $100,000, since the original SimCity 4 only started with that (which I guess is 'hard' on RH, haven't really had the time to check it out too much) and am very looking forward to using the STEX as I learn more and more about Rush Hour. Simtropolis seems to be a great place with tons of stuff to add on to the game. My largest city has a population of 294,000 without anything from RH, my current region has 1.6 million (only half of the region played too 3.gif).

Oh, and I use to play SimCity 3000 and SC3K unlimited, if anyone here remembers that? haha, that was a long while ago...

AH one more thing, I love HK and it's buildings, so kudos to Bixel and the other members of the HKBAT, looking forward to seeing those buildings in game!

Hello, I'm not really a new member, but I've recently just started to come back to this site after about 11 previous posts. I live in Tucson, Arizona and am studying for a business degree from the University of Arizona and a community college. I hope to partake in discussion and learn some techniques for when I play Sim City 4, which I've just started to do after haven't played in years.

EDIT: and thanks to all those who put hard work into creating all those great custom buildings (I believe they're called B.A.T.s, right?), terrains, and other awesome creations that make SC4 much more enjoyable.

Hello simtropolis community members!

I'm registered in http://www.simtropolis.com since 2008/01/08, but only now i found this topic. So...

My name is Algimantas and i'm 16. I live in Vilnius (capital of Lithuania). I have SC4 and SC4:RH for about 3 years. When i first bought it i played it alot, but after ~2 months i got bored of it (probably because my cities always bankrupted, LOL). About 1 month ago I started playing SC again and i'm learning to build big cities now. My biggest city so far has 35000 people living in it and is rising every day. ^^

Hey, my name is Jill. I don't usually play computer games, but my bf plays WoW a ton. Since I'm stuck inside with a broken leg, I have a lot of time to sit here and do nothing, or entertain myself with games. So far I've tried the Sims 2 which is awesome, and am now starting Sim City 4. I found out about simtropolis because I was looking for ways to make it more interesting.

Oh, and I'm 21 from Minneapolis, going to school for fashion design (which explains the Sims 2, right?). From looking things over, everyone looks really nice to each other and I hope to be a part of it.
