  1. Show us your Area view

That is a good looking city, and I have to agree all of these aerial shots are very good looking. How is the 25 tile unlock performing? I know you still have plenty of population that you can bring in if you choose, but have you noticed any problems with that mod so far?
  2. New Update Coming Soon!

I just jumped on this CJ and am enjoying it.  Very well done so far, keep it up as time allows.  Congrats for the B on the Algebra test, your sims are no doubt anxiously awaiting your return as a more educated mayor.
  3. Mystery of ur nickname

The nick name I chose is the same I created and still used for my first online Role-Playing character 2.5 years ago. On a flight home I took 45 mintues to come up with a name I'd like to use. During that time I had numerous combinations and spliced them together to try and make it sound different than anything I'd heard before. I had to have a "y" in it...I don't really remember why but it was important at the time This name as far as I knew was my own creation however I've seen that others have used the word and name LONG before I "created" it on that plane ride. So I obviously take no credit for it in the grand scheme of things whatsover. Interesting Notes: (To me anyway ) In Hebrew: Zalym is the plural of Zal which means: shady tree In Turkman: Zalym means tyrant or tyrannical Tyrant started out in Greek, originally meaning, an absolute sovereign ruler in a free state, but afterwards, a severe or cruel ruler....Both are good for Mayorship in SC4 I think
  4. Introduce Yourself Here!

Hello all, I picked up Sim City 4 when it first came out, later I picked up the deluxe edition as I couldn't find my old CD. Despite having the game for so long I am very much a novice. I've played the series since Sim City 2000 (was my first game on my first PC) I also have played Sim City on the SNES but that was later on and I enjoyed it as well. Even with all this SC 4 really threw me for a loop, I'm not sure if it was just added complexity or the regions but it took me a long time to get a city that ran in the black and when I finally did the city itself looked awful and I gave up on the game and moved on. Recently however as there's been a lull in quality sim games from my perspective I've had this itch to return to SC4. I knew it was a good and fun game I just had to figure out how to play it well. So I started looking for any sites which still had information not thinking I'd find much, not to mention one that was actually active. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled across Simtropolis. I've been reading the tutorial sections and have picked up the necessary files and all that good stuff. I'm taking in as much as I can before I go back into the world of mayorship and I'm excited. Currently I'm looking through the search feature for any and all basic city information I can find so I can as much as possible avoid asking repeat questions. I've read through the Mass Transit guides and that really opened my eyes as to why my systems failed miserably. My next goal is to find good strategies for starting out with a new city and what type of relationship each city has to the region. I’m really excited to have found this site and look forward to truly learning how to play SC 4 for the first time.
