After reading a few forums and downloading a few mods that I cant wait to try, I guess im joining. I'm 28 and been a simcity fan since it was released on that old and doesnt work no more SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainement System for u young folk who never even seen an Atari 2600, lol) I used to be a hardcore gamer, but life, work, sex, ect... tends to keep me away from my games more than I'd like. Hope to spend hours in the coming months on this site.

p.s. I'd type more but the dishes wont clean them selves and i aint rich enough for a maidquote>

Hiya and welcome to the site! I remember the SNES console as well as PSOne and Dreamcast. I also remember those Sega Megadrives that used to be selling like hot pancakes.quote>

Betcha don't remember the Commodore Amiga, which, along with Apple Macs, were the first computers that SimCity was published for. Will wrote it for C64, but that machine was dying, so it was re-written for Amiga.

Anyway, welcome Quickcola...always good to have a more mature member lol, all these young geniuses can be quite depressing to us old fogies.quote>

lol ya i remember comodor, but i nvr actually had 1, only touched it a couple times at a friend's place, my gaming carreer toke off with the Atari then the very first Sega (b4 genise) still own a PS2 (the old 1 with the hard drive for the year and a half i spent on ff11) but insted of spending as much time (or more) on games as i did time at school... well... lets say i actually need my sleep now, lol

OK, test question; in SNES version, What was ultimate reward?

I know after 500 000 pop u got the mario staue....I remember that...

but then there was that perfect land no water in the way (had to buy land out of water for space in regular maps) only trees in the middle that formed Mario's face (forget hills, too complex for the game) i remember like mambe 20 city attemps b4 deciding i had beat the game once that map avalible, dont remember what pop count needed was.

Anyways, tx all for such warm welcome 39.gif

Hi. My name's Dave and I'm fairly new to this site. I'm a 48 year old originally from L.A. and now living in Indiana. I've owned SC4 for a couple of years but didn't play it too often until recently. Thanks to a rotator cuff operation I've had a lot of spare time on my hands and that's how I've discovered just how addictive this game really is!

I really thank you for the welcome! Actually, my nick isn't from the movie. I picked it up because I'm a fun loving person with a wild sense of humor that's caused a lot of people to wonder-and doubt- my sanity. To tell everyone the truth, I wouldn't want to be any other way.

Hello everyone, I have been kind of a lurker on this site for over a year, but I thought that I would try posting a bit.  I have really enjoyed this site, and I would like to thank all of the people that have posted all of the awesome BATs, lots and mods over in the STEX as those have really kept Simcity 4 interesting.  Thanks again everyone (especially Dirk for keeping this site running)!  48.gif

Hello all. New to Simtropolis, but not new to SimCity. It is until now that I find the time and have the proper machine to run SimCity 4. I haven't built anything huge yet, but I'm working on it. I'll have a few questions for the more knowledgeable Mayors.

Hey I just thought I would introduce myself ,  I am 41 years old and got into simcity

at version1,  I enjoy the strategy games like simcity, civilization, and age of empires (although

I dont like the time limits on the latter two) as well as some of the first person shooters.

Right now I am a american currently working in tokyo.  I am a computer artist  who specializes

in SFX color/ lighting. .  Mostly movies,  comercials and sometimes games.

Originally I am from Los angeles (so I surf) but i also like photography and sketching.

so hopefully once I figure out the in's and outs of sim4, (just opened the box)

I will be able add some of my own downloads as well as with what I do for

a living help out with questions on overall look of things....

this is a very cool forum!!!   And I have a great time readying the city

journals, they ALL look fantastic as well as reading the stories that go with them.

(katies mountain retreat----what did happen at the reading of the will?)

Very soon I hope to  have my city journal  posted.

great to be here

Dr. No

Hi from Holland.

I am Tom, my nickname is Noah M. I play SC 4 for a few days now after a 2-year stop. I don't have the expansionpack yet. I live in Holland near the German border in a small town called Haaksbergen. It is close to Enschede. Mayby you know it from the fireworkfactory that exploded in 2000. I am 17 years old and my hobbies are Lord of the Rings, birds and drawing. Other games I play are Need for Speed Most Wanted, Command and Conquer and Call of Duty(2) That would be enough. If there is anything else you want to know, just ask.

greet Noah M.

Excellent choice of games, Dr_No. In fact, I play all of those and, at the time being, I'm playing Civ 4 while I'm listening to some music.

Can't wait for your CJ (City Journal).

Have a great time here.

Well, although I'm already on the board for some time, I just found that thread and thought I might post a bit about me.

My nickname, Mienchen, is also my RL nickname and derives from my first name Jasmin. I'm 22 and am currently aiming at becoming an elder care nurse. I started playing SimCity with the SNES version I bought some years ago.

My hobbies are quite diverse, as I do some sketching, 3D design (but I'm far from being professional), writing, poem writing, working with and at the computer in PHP and general website design, I'm currently learning Java just for fun; some of my work can be found on www.schwarzer-tempel.de (which is a german site at the moment I abandoned for about a year as I didn't have enough time working on it; but I'm currently working on redoing the site to be german and english and change the overall design and stuff like that 2.gif )

If you have questions, feel free to ask 2.gif
