                                                                            You guys should make a forum specifically for non NAM SimCity 4 deluxe player's so we could not be included in the NAM's expansion of the transportation department. Just an idea. Think about it. no?

You don't need to use the NAM if you don't want to, but the NAM isn't just networks. It also re-does the traffic simulation to make your cities more efficient at finding jobs for your Sims. If you don't like all the extra road options and complications, you can install a "lite" version of the NAM with the installer that literally only changes the traffic sim and stations, and literally nothing else, leaving your default rail, road, and highway networks unchanged except for the road capacities and station capacities, which don't work the way the game tells you they do (and thus why the NAM changes them).

But there are plenty of players that don't use the NAM and still post here. Nothing requires that you do, except maybe seeking support for issues that the NAM resolves.

Based on the site tools and who has access to them, this'll be targeted at @Cyclone Boom and me as the only two who could do it. (Well, ofc, @Dirktator certainly could too, but he leaves the day to day operations to CB and me.)

I was a late adopter of NAM back when I started playing so I do empathize with the idea, but once I understood I didn't need the full massive NAM install, but could pick and chose to get SAMs and diagonal streets and the Simulator Z fixes, I went for it and would never go back.

I suspect there would only be a handful of active peeps who would be interested. I forget what we decided long ago when I pushed for (and got) a dedicated forum for SimCity 3000. I believe it was passing a count of 100 separate topics about it.

At this point, I'll answer for CB and me that we don't see the need for such a niche forum. However, the board software does allow you to create a Club and then you could have the equivalent of your own subset website where members could join, have your own forums and topics, and even a files section if you need it.

Yes I can remember asking what the requirement was for setting up a new forum and being told it was 100 topics at the time ... think it was about the time I was shutting down my website so pre-2020
