I'll preface this by saying I'm extremely new to SC4 and this forum, so thank you in advance for your help! I was inspired to start modding my vanilla SC4 by Rob's Red Hot Spot on youtube. Anyway I'm going to include this screenshot to ask anyone with enough experience to please explain to me what might be causing this. As you can see in the screenshot, I don't know why there are so many animals and why they're behaving like this, as I do not want them crossing onto my city tiles and wandering all over it....Any idea what's up here??

Welcome to Simtropolis and SC4 @hi_density  *:)

Yes, this is very normal for animals which appear in cities, especially in a brand new tile and from planted trees. These animals are known as fauna and are common around the woodland areas, and can wander around onto the roadways as you've found.

There is a solution to prevent them appearing though if you'd like to. See the post Cori made here to download her Wild Fauna Remover mod. *;)

I'm not really sure how animals "work" in SimCity.

I, for a change, experience the opposite. Regardless of how many of them I "seed" in the map editor, they seem to disappear into oblivion within the first minute of their existence. *;)

The "SimCity 4" vanilla Opera House is the most evil thing in existence. Avoid.

I recall reading somewhere (maybe the Prima Guide) that animals seeded with the brush are indeed transient.

For the others, they are inherent in the Maxis trees like when adding said trees with the brush or via Flora Blast.

That explains a lot. I've had an instance where I seeded the fauna, and they disappeared, but, later on in the same city, found them wandering around, even though they ceased to exist after placing them.

One way or another, I don't have any. *
