Look in the file and see if there's a Zfile or some other unusual file bundled with the wall models. I had this same problem with a seawall set, and removed the file and it was fixed.

You need to remove the Optional MML you installed with the main pack. This is caused by the way MMLs work, so if you wanted to retain the MML functionality, then you’ll have to live with this downside.

Yes. Find the file Mas71_JPN-Walls_MML.dat in your Plugins and remove it. That's a Menu Management Lot which you must plop first in order for the other lots to be available.

Edit too: Prolly a good idea to bulldoze the plopped MML before removing the file from plugins. *;)

The benefit of using the MML is the lots won't clutter your menu if that one is not plopped. It works by treating all of the other lots as rewards which has the inherent bug of forcing you to re-select them for each plop.

thanks @CorinaMarie and @rsc204 Indeed, removing the MML solved the problem... there are many sets that I use in some cities and not in others, I would like to learn how to create my own MML, any suggestions?

@franyer, I'll leave the MML design question to the experts.

I created a better (IMO) method which gives the best of both worlds, but you do have to move one file (per set you want menu control over) in or out of plugins before you start the game. Also, you need to set it up before using any of the lots for the first time. This allows them to be hidden from the menus when not needed. I imagine it'd be ideal for wall sets. With the lots enabled, they stay on the cursor for multiple plops.

It's what we used for WSSNCOPFL and is described in that thread.

@SIM-ple Jack As far as I know FAR has not been incorporated for Streets, let's see if future NAM updates take it into account. I think WRC has already been incorporated for Street, Road, OWR, Avenue, NWM, Maxis Rail, RRW, Monorail, MHW, MHO, RHW...so far it has not been implemented for El-Rail and GLR, although it has already been commented on a major update for El-Rail.

FA-Streets are not currently a thing. MHY and MHO both have special WRCs at 45° for both heights, MHO also has FA pieces at ground level too.

Hello

I may be trying to do something that is not possible.

I wanted to add a logo to this station from the game.

I edited the FSH File in Photoshop and in the game the logo is giant color blocks.

I know nothing about Alpha Channels but I am thinking it has to do with this.

Below is the edited FSH File

If this can be done could someone explain to me how to do it.

Please keep in mind I am new at this moding thing.

This is the original file. all the S3d files are there but not all the FSH files.

I have not found all the FSH files for the model yet. I tried experimenting on

the one dealing with the front of the station

So yes, it was two things.

  1. Your import of the edited FSH was assigned Group 00000001 and Type 00000001. It needs to have 1abe787d and 1f470434 respectively.
  2. Then, as you surmised, it does need the alpha channel too. You can use the Maxis one since your edit doesn't alter the building outline.

Here's how it looks in the game now:

I presume you extracted the FSH via Reader so that's how it got the 00000001 number. I believe when re-importing into Reader, it's the .TGI that figures out how to convert back to the right info, but it's been forever since I used that method.

If you don't have it, grab @rivit's GoFSH program.  (It's the bee's knees of sophistication and ease of use for extracting and importing FSH.)

So it looks like I did do this correct except I failed to notice that the Id was changed during coping.

I did use gofish to extract the bmp and then add the new bmp and save a new FSH file.

 

Actually that is my new Simtrak logo It is hard to see the lettering though

I noticed that when you save a FSH file in GoFish it changes the background color from black to white.

Is this going to mess anything up?

And if editing the BMP, it will have a black background which is fine because that exactly matches the black in the alpha channel.

I first went to GoFSH to extract the FSH. It got rather upset using the FSH x DAT option:

So I peeked inside with Reader:

^ And I see what was upsetting Ron's program. The GID for your edited FSH is invalid for this. And the IID with that GID is one for a Network iirc.
 

So, I fixed those up using the same GID as the Maxis train station and then assigning an IID from my texture range. (I know in the long run it'll get the 0x1f470434 to be an override, but in the meantime any valid IID will do.)

Now I have this saved as its own file:

And then extracting the RGB and Alphas separately to BMPs looks like this:

A file compare shows the alphas are identical. So, I see nothing at all wrong.

If you are ready to see yours in the game, remove the Maxis FSH and assign its full TGI (7ab50e44-1abe787d-1f470434) to yours.

I was referring to in Reader if you go back and forth you will see one has black and the other white.

Sorry about the IDs I was not concerned with them. The are not the ones I will really use

Ah. Yes, yours has both the color and alpha channel and with Alpha Blended selected (which it does by default), it will show with the transparent background. For the Maxis one, it has only the color channels so the alpha is not present and it shows with a black background.

Could be. I'm uncertain where that is, but in subsequent testing I notice both GoFSH and Reader 1.5.4 see an alpha channel with the Maxis FSH in your file, but Reader 0.9.3 pretends like it's not there.

It could be this is sort of implied from the single color channels part with the black outline showing the alpha overlaid or such? I'm guessing at this.

The key thing is I see nothing wrong with your edited version once you give it the proper TGI (and remove the Maxis one so it doesn't re-override).

Is there a way to stop the 4x3 R$$$ from growing? I know R$$$ pops up in other sizes, and I am fine with those.  I know I can zone a smaller area, or use a no kick out mod.  But rather just stop the large R$$$ lots from growing at all without work arounds

CB found an existing mod that blocks All Mansions. I'll ask him to post a linky to that. Then you can have that in plugins when you don't want them to grow and remove it if you do.
