after 100 to try reinsall SC ill give up. After 100% is end of Game. Nothing shows up. Thats realy sad, i love the Game.

I Cant Download from GoG, because i use an web-Stick with only 3GB of Traffic. And btw, i cant pay it online because PayPal is on the Red List. They arent trustfull (in Gemany and the most other Europian Contrys).

I Have no Clue. how to go on. On an old System, Disk 2 works 100%. On other Systems i cant install DVD 2 till the End.

Sorry to hear this, but GOG will take credit card (rather than just pay-pal) and it is always best to jump in on those specials while they are available (It usually sells for approx $20 USD). Also, once you have purchased it, it can be downloaded and installed on other systems, should the need arise.

Perhaps Ebay (or a similar on-line market place in Germany) is the next best option: you can pick up pre-owned discs that will run on older hardware. For instance, here is one I just found...

It looks like you're on Windows Vista or Windows 7 from the looks of it.  My immediate thought as to why the disc copy isn't working for you is Windows-related.  Microsoft issued a Windows Update, known as KB3086255, for Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1 back in 2015, which disables a driver file known secdrv.sys.  Microsoft came to the conclusion that secdrv.sys was actually a "security risk", and issued that patch to disable it.  With Windows 10, they completely omitted it from the operating system.

Unfortunately, the purpose of secdrv.sys is to serve as a driver to allow programs incorporating SafeDisc and SecuROM DRM, both of which were popular copy-protection systems among software companies (especially computer game publishers) in the early-00s.  The disc version of SimCity 4 does in fact use SafeDisc, so if you're using Windows 10, or have KB3086255 installed on Windows Vista, 7, 8, or 8.1, then the disc copy will not run.  It's possible to install the game on those operating systems, but attempting to run the game will result in failure, as the disc-checking routine that is initialized when running it won't find or can't access secdrv.sys.

My advice would be to check the Add/Remove Programs section in Control Panel, and see if you have Windows Update KB3086255 installed.  If you are not worried about the risks that Microsoft claims are associated with secdrv.sys, then you can remove the update.  There's also ways to install a script that will re-enable secdrv.sys temporarily when needed.

And yes, its windows 7 Ultima. I forgot, that this is a very old HDD and the windows Update wasnt deaktivatet, my fault.

Note however, MS changed the way updates were delivered after this article was written. The specific KB # it refers to is no longer correct, since all previous updates are now packaged into a single update. Not that anyone should be uninstalling or removing security updates anyhow .

However, the safest solution where you only temporarily activate the driver when starting the game, is the solution I'd recommend:

Lastly, if your disks go bad, you aren't taking care of them. CD's (aside from the very first ones) are very reliable when factory pressed. So if you don't scratch them, or leave them lying around outside of their protective cases, there is no good reason why they should get damaged. Not to mention, they are usually repairable if they don't have large deep scratches. Plus, don't assume your CD/DVD drive is working, just because it reads other disks fine. The laser module inside, may not be working as well as when it was new. For particularly problematic disks, use of another optical drive can make a difference.

it needs a bit longer... i guess ^^ Most of the Files are Doubles and need to be deleted. 3 DVD´s with 11 GB of Datas needs to be checked and deleted. Much BS in about 15 Years in the Folders  There are some Goldies in there, even from Peng and some others whos gone.

After 12 Hours of watch/delet:

@City_Slider: Please don't delete the old files you have. Tyberius, Cori, Cyclone and Tarkus have access to a cloud drive of mine for recovering old bats thought lost to time. Tybi is working his way slowly though them before each upload checking for stuff like deps and old 'bad practice' modding. Can you send me a list of the files that you have so we can check if any of them are currently missing from the remaining online sites?

What @Whte_rbt means is how best not to delete these old plugins you've found.

As stated, I'm involved in the PM convo he refers to, and has kindly shared an online drive full of older files to help with restoring lost content. By keeping your old Plugins folder, it might be possible you'll have older files which as a community we're still seeking to salvage. In other words, just keep hold of them in a safe place.

Then if possible to send a list of what files you have, that would be very helpful.

Hm... sounds quite interesting, since quite a lot stuff might have disappeared during a few ST/STEX crashes. As Whte_rbt mentioned I'm a huge fan of restoring old and lost contents even if a bunch of them has only archive purpose because either they have been reworked since or the lot files itselves are too outdated. Although the model files are a different matter, because those can be repurpose at anytime. 

Indeed I'm in a slow process to clean up huge amount of files and always something comes up, but I'm getting there eventually. Just for reference, my semi-organized back-catalogue contains aprox 3500-ish individual uploads (18,36 GB), and it does NOT contain the full SIMPEG (450 pieces mostly organized contents), LEX Catalogue (2500+ pieces under Project ZIP), SC Polska Catalgoue (450+ pieces of unorganized contents) and another 1500-ish pieces of unorganized contents from different far eastern sites and STEX and CapitalSim. And I haven't really digged deeper into the STEX collections like NYBT or NDEX or Ill Tonksos collection and others... So my back-up catalogue, if I take most of the duplications out is around 37 GB SC4 content, not couting the DVDs, CDs and the NAM files. Currently... and it's growing

My unorganized collection of files stretches about 158 Gb. Some reorganisation, shift out dupilicates, put downloads nicely on author or website would make life easier. There some order as old is old and new at last but a new setup wouldn't be bad. Search mostly help or having it in a project. Still I am looking for some special buildings wich where released are there or dissapeared. Simtropolis may still have some or had the search function limited for not so old message of news as it's different from the LEX table search. Crash loosing data is not fine, but should all forum message data be kept for ever for sace of reference or would we make a shift remove messages more than 5 jears old. Special interest omnibus, st exchange,city yournals, galleries should only be preserved ! This site seem not be going without adds, I do recognize there's a need for cash, LEX seem to do well without, but lastest annoying add block isn]t very friendly for anyone, specialy when you support the site on a semi regulair basis ?
