Joining the Simtropolis Discord Chat

Heya! Posting in here to join the discord coz im looking to get into modding my SimCity 4!

Thanks for posting here. (I recognise your username from using the Contact Us form.)

I just realised how you'd not posted in the forums before now, and with being a new member. This is a requirement to join the Discord chat, so give it another try with the profile sync and see whether that helps grant you access. Otherwise we can ask Discord Admin @Samerton who'll be able to validate you manually.

I can see that, following your first forum post, your account in the Discord server has been validated and you should now be able to access all channels - welcome!

Can I please get approved for the discord. I've been waiting all week to get approved and all I want is to find players to start a region with in SimCity (2013). Please someone help me out with getting approved.

Make sure you have linked your discord account with your simtropolis account. 

This is the guide on how to do

Since you posted on the forum you must already be approved in the discord server.

I've tried to link my discord to simtropolis but when I try to it says "need to verify my account to perform this action". I have no clue as to why this is happening because my account is already verified. Is there any way to fix this if not, I give up on joining simtropolis chat.

Make sure simtropolis account and discord account are verified

Site administration is a delicate balance between ease of use for our members vs safety from spam bots.

If there was no barrier to joining then we would be overwhelmed with garbage posts advertising everywhichwhatever.

And we feel that making a single post is, at most, inconvenient rather than restrictive. YMMV

OK so what if I'm an incredibly old member, it says it was last synced on November 2nd on Simtropolis and I still cant see anything on Discord except the public channels.

Hi, is your Discord name tomissthemarc? I removed and reapplied your member status, so see if that changes anything. Otherwise, can you share a screenshot of which channels you can see?

I wonder if that's the problem. I actually changed my username to timewisegamgee on Discord... Maybe it's somehow picking up the old name?
