Hello fellow SimCity-lovers.

The mod "God Terraforming in Mayor Mode" doesn't work when I have installed it. It simply doesn't show up on the left menu as it should.

I have SimCity 4 Deluxe bought on steam. Does any of you know how I can make it work? Thanks in advance.

You can see the mod here:

Are you using SC4 on windowed mode? Or in fullscreen mode but with less than 768 pixels of height? For some reason, those menus simply don't appear unless you have 768 pixels or more on the game. It is indeed the reason I stopped playing on windowed mode :P

Just so you know, that mod is for convenience only, to avoid having to use a keyboard shortcut. My personal suggestion would be to ditch the mod, and when you want the God tools in Mayor Mode, hold Crtl+Alt+Shft while clicking on the God mode button. Better to save space in your plugins folder for buildings/lots/network mods.

Also, is this the only mod you have installed? Which directory do you have it installed to? The Steam version of the game has two plugins folders on your C drive. The extra cheats mod, for example, only works when placed in the plugins folder located within the Steam folder, whereas the rest of your mods should generally be in the plugins folder found in your Documents. However, since I've never tried this mod, I don't know if it is similarly affected. But if you followed all the install instructions that could be it. But really, just use the hotkeys and save the disk space.

Actually all versions of SC4 have two plugins folders, one in the installation directory and another in documents.

The only plugins that should be placed into the Install dir folder are .dll files, because if these aren't loaded before other mods, they may fail to initialise properly. It doesn't happen every time, but it's annoying to have to restart the game when it does play up.

As for disk space, frankly this mod is so tiny <30kb, it really isn't something I'd consider an issue. And if you're screen can't run at 768 vertical resolution, well I'd replace it. I did have a 800x600 monitor once, it was mated to a 486!!

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

This worked very well. Thank you.

I did not know this. I thought only God Mode  was possible before naming your city and going into Mayor Mode. So originally, if I click Ctrl + Alt + Shift, the God Mode button will appear in the menu just as it does with my mod installed?

And no, it is not the only mod I have installed. I have NAM and Double Jobs for industry installed aswell. Currently looking for a decent mod to remove radiation, since a nuclear meltdown has just ruined a rather large area of my city. Any of you who know about a mod that can help me with this?

Anyway, thanks for letting me know this.

Yes, without any mods installed, you can have God Mode tools in Mayor Mode by holding Crtl+Alt+Shft while switching from Mayor Mode to God Mode.
