ok first design fork: I'm torn because I'm not too sure if this is too harsh a turn for a tram (you can see the 2 separate lanes by looking where the trams are - ignore the mesh it's just a clone)

is the angle it turns at to get back to the center tracks too much? should i perhaps consider more of a C design where the forward tracks are closer together with platform on either side (mirrored for backward)

this is the other option, and i know it's not the most popular (having 3 platforms - one center and 2 on the side) but it does mean the tram doesn't cross so hard into the center tracks

is that the bloodypenguin one? because that's not simply a station, it's a mod (which obviously has modified code) so i don't think the same sort of station track is possible in the vanilla road editor :)

Yep, that's the one. So it makes sense that some modding might also be necessary for underground and elevated station tracks.

When do we get underground tram stations? CO pls.

For the turning issue - vanilla tram tracks are allowed to do 90 degree turns (and worse!), so in comparison this isn't too bad. It does look a little off, but most junctions with trams tend to do that, at least in my opinion.

Real trams are capable of handling some quite sharp turns. It doesn't bother me at all.

I like smoother turns as it may look even worse with von Roth's Gothenburg trams, but it doesn't concern me too much.

It's more of a design choice of trams not the tracks, normally they must be articulated and in Bern (and in Zurich) i've seen sharper turns. So i'd say they are fine.

I usually add that articulated section to trams so it won't look weird in the game:

here's a preview of the mesh (no tracks /wires yet because i cbf atm) I'm actually still in two minds about how wide the platforms make the tracks go, mainly coz the tracks are gonna skew a bit at the junctions i think :( so might release both platform styles (Biv) and (C)

Yup. Leave it to the user to make the wrong decision of which line will turn after the station *:D.

Looks good. We can make a proper tram station (as building, like train) with this. Do you know if it's possible to restrict outmost lane to busses after they're in a station building, via traffic president  ?

Should be possible. At least you can use TM:PE for the current harbour, where the street is included.

But it will mean you can't zone on the road because there would be no access for service vehicles

Actually you can restrict just buses and trucks. Service vehicles are not affected then. You can even block citizens cars using TM:PE and let service vehicles still pass. ;)

REV0  wanted to have the road within a building. So zoning would not be the issue.

depending on how large the asset is you can still zone on roads embedded

RL example from where I live:
    https://www.google.se/maps/@57.7076367,11.9730168,198m/data=!3m1!1e3

It's on a plaza, apart from the trams, only buses may stop here. No cars whatsoever.

Maybe it'll inspire, else just ignore ;)
